For our children

what kind of future should we leave for our children?

we should leave them some fresh air, clean water and a better environment to live in.

Without that, life will become wildered, soul will become dried up.

Without fresh air, people will die slowly

People will suffer from various chronicle disease.

Now many people already died of over work, over eat, over joy and over fattigue.

People are people, they are not machine, even a machine needs some oil.

People are people, they should have their own choice and they should think in their own mindset,

not just follow others every day.

Why cant you stop and breathe a bit and when you taste the filthy of the air, the dirty water and

horrible environment, you will think, will it be better if you work less, damage less and enjoy more for

the better?

From when did we become so greedy?

We should have some space for sports, have some space for relax, some space for thinking.

Can we avoid river being polluted, fish to die and crops polluted?

Cant we think and do things rationally?

Why must we do that only becasue others do it?

Future is in our hands, we must act and act in a positive way.

We should use more of our sun, wind and water.

we should protect our air, water and environment.

Otherwise, one day we will find that our children are facing a tough future.

Be a good person

love the nature,

love the people,

do what you can

behave as a responsible person

feel good to be green, blue and clean

many diseases come from our bad habits,

many diseases come from our greediness

be good to nature and be good to neighbor

enjoy every day and enjoy every hour.

do what we can to have a positive impact on our environment and our friends.

be generous, be kind and open minded.

be positive and enthusiastic and be efficient

do what we can and bring positive influence.

feel good to be a vanguard in leading a healthy lifestyle.

feel happy that you are not jealosy of those who indulge in material life.

feel good that you are healthy both physically and psychologically.

Now we need a total change of mindset

we should be green and clean

get rid of the bacteria in our body and soul, clean our soul and live in peace.

 

Recently I am writing about climate change newsletter Chinese environment brief. I feel I am encouraged to read more and write more. There are more articles in Chinese against western remarks of Chinese environment threat. It seems now that all the 'threats' are coming from China, economic, resources and environment. Yes, people are easy to blame others when they have their own problems. It is called the shift of pains in phisiological terms. For example when the western countries lost their job, they can blame china to take it even though they enjoy the cheap price of fine products everyday, or the US can blame china for its huge trade deficit. The US government can spend as much as it wants in military spending, but afterwards it blames Chinese yuan of not appreciating enough.

On the other hand, the chinese government nowadays is very sensitive to these criticisms too. Whenever there is a criticism, they will react a bit. That is why when people say china will have food crisis, chinese government took measures immediately, and food problem was avoided. The chinese government is reacting much faster nowadays compared many years ago. Now you said environment threat, ok, china can site thousands of examples that the west has made many mistakes in their development.

It is right that the west has made a lot of mistakes and took a long time to change. even so, china needs more vision for their future. for example in climate change. it is true that the industrialized countries affect the world climate, but how can we take smarter methods and change our mindset quickly to act in the vanguard. For example, the harmonious world idea is a wonderful idea and it has won support from many countries. In fact nobody can refuse such a wonderful idea. The same, if Chinese people change their mindset quick enough to get justice, fair opportunities and do good things for the people and for the society, it will be welcomed.

Once we have a just and right reason for what we are doing, we should not be afraid of wrong accusation. But it seems that we didnt do enough and only when we have pressures, can the government act more. This also gives people an excuse that if you are given pressure, it will be better than pleasing you.

This attitude used to be our attitude in doing things. Being modest and sincere, because sometimes even if you appeal others, if you are not in the right position and hasnt done enough to be respected, people dont bother to change their mindset. The arrogant attitude is still there.

But the fact of Chinas development is obvious and nobody can neglect that. But there is still a lot to be done. What I want to say is that as a Chinese we should be able to live our own life, be proud what we have achieved, but correct our mistakes and avoid making mistake again.

To change our mindset and do the good deeds, do everything we can to change our environmetn for the better. REalize that what we need is not much more than what we desire, so dont worry, be good and act from small things so that our living planet will become better.  

People cannot help thinking a lot about the slavary incident. Indeed it is a shame of our party, our government and our society. But we have to face such a reality. It comes from the past.

Many people stay in Beijing and shanghai in big cities, but they don't know what is the reality. Even if people see the beggars in the subway, no body took any measures to improve the situation.

Why?

The society become more and more indifferent and selfish.

There is a wrong direction in the thought of value too. Because China is big, the central government policy is hard to reach the bottom level.

The central government needs to think once a policy is made, whether it will be implemented. take some time. Think of the measure of attracting investment, it took 10 or 20 years to change the people.

While the campaign is booming in coastal areas, inland areas didnät do anything. now the central government already found the negative impact and wanted to stop that, but it is going on at the village level now. 

Education and education, all the people need good education so that they can think and reason.

Indeed when people think of serving a small group of people, it means serving the majority, no, t hat is wrong.

In rural areas, there has been always a kind of gang force in the village, if the party doesnt fight them, instead work together with them, then we are going back to the old days.

The party needs to have correct direction and ethics. Otherwise, there will be revolution. Lu Xun said silent, silent, people will either break out in silence or die in it.

so do the right thing.   

On World Environment Day, what should I do? Two years ago in 2005, we went to supermarket to issue cloth bags and popularize the idea of using less plastic bags.

Today I decide that I will not buy or even use even one plastic bag today to commemorate such a day. We can only do a little according to what we can. I will have exam Thursday so I must study. But I will act a bit.

Today I also read a sad news. Vice premier Huang Ju died at the age of 69. Compared with other Chinese leaders, I feel this age is not very big. I feel a bit shocked. Of course disease can kill people. But working too much and worry too much can cause disease and worsen the disease too.

I feel a bit sad about Mr Huangs death because I think he is a honest leader. In 1998, Huang Ju led a group of Chinese communist party member on behalf of Central Committee of CPC to visti Zimbabwe. He held talks with the Zanupf party Secretary and then met President Robert Mugabe. During the talks they talked a lot about bilateral relations. It was during that meeting, Mugabe talked a lot how the Chinese government supported his party during the independent war in the late 1970s.

Then Mr Huang talked about how Shanghai had developed so fast to all the staff in the embassy and we journalist from CRI and Xinhua.

I was impressed by his talk. He said Shanghais development is based on three generations resources----land. They have used the land from the last generation, this generation and the next generation. The land for young people has been developed already. This is why Shanghai has developed so fast.

He didnt comment much about it. He just told us the fact. At that time I thought he fully supported such idea and for some time I feel not very happy about him. But on the other hand, I feel he has given clear thought about Shanghais development model. And he didnt comment much. He knew probably that it is hard to say many years later, it is still good or not.

He later came to Beijing and became vice premier and took care of economy. It is a tough job. Considering Chinas prioritizing economy, a lot of side effects cried out so quickly and the environment is being affected in a negative way.

I guess Mr Huang must work also too hard. I pay condolences to him and his family.

But the question is that should we  work a bit smarter?  Laozi said Wuwei. Sometimes if we dont do too much, things can be better. If we did too much not in a right way, it can cause damage. So lets use our brain and think more about how we should behave and treat our earth, the only place we can live on.

Treat the earth nicely, protect the natural ecological system and do less operation to it can be a better choice for the future.
