Latest update from the Manager

by: olytft

Two weekends in a row we have had a great turn out for the Sunday run around. Keep it up. Another run-a-round scheduled for 2:00pm at Nairnville Park next Sunday and hopefully the wind won’t quite be as strong as it has during the first two.

Just as a quick note, there are a few people on the Distribution List that I haven’t heard from. If you guys are not interested in receiving these regular e-mails or don’t wish to be involved in the team let me know and I’ll remove you from the list.

Season Start Dates

The season will commence on Saturday 2/4/05. Details as they come to hand but you can also check out the Capital Soccer website http://www.soccer.org.nz/

Player Registration and Contact Details

I am currently trying to finalise the team numbers and contact details. Find attached the latest team list.

Please check your detail and alter/correct where appropriate and either highlight your changes in another colour and send back or drop me an e-mail with the corrections/additions.

Make sure that you have completed the columns about availability and so on as this will reflect what people are asked to pay upfront ie the more “fulltime” players the cheaper the initial and overall cost will be.

If you wish to discuss the options and requirements please contact the Treasurer - Selwyn Bates (selwyn.bates@iag.co.nz).

Strip

Please if you have any strip (numbered Shirt, Shorts, Socks) from last season please let the Strip Manager - Patrick Geddes (patrick.geddes@parliament.govt.nz) know as soon as possible. The socks aren’t quite as important as we don’t want them back but it is nice to know what is out there.

I have our representative (Patrick Quesnal) from Nike looking into sourcing additional strip (Shirts, Shorts, Socks) in case we need some spares and for those that would like to by some for themselves.

Notices

Apologies from Christian who has injured himself and now won’t be available to play for the team prior to his departure for overseas. The same goes for the Darren though he will be back to play hopefully towards the end of this season when his injury is “repaired”.

Welcome to several of our International Representatives, Thomas and Colin from the mighty United Kingdom and of course that wanderer from the place that shan’t be named (located north of the Bombay Hills), Stuart Coats.

Also we have confirmed our Vice Captain with Andre Baldock making himself available and accepting the Brian’s Trust Nomination to fulfil this role.

Don’t forget to check the Web presence of the Olympic Club (http://www.olympicafc.org.nz/) to see how they are doing in the Hilton Petone Cup and the up coming events that they are organising.

Also the TFT’s various notices are located at http://www.blogigo.com/tfts if you want to save disk space or the new members want to catch up on the Manager’s diatribes.
