*sigh*

Mood: A bit fed-up
Listening to: Sisters of Mercy - Greatest Hits.

Well, I've had a funny old few days. Wednesday's shift was interesting.

I got talking to a guy from Scotland, who was a big rocker (like me!). We were talking about all the bands we were into, and sharing the gigs we had been to. Massive Whitesnake fan, as well as other bands of that era. Was a great call! Got on with him really well. He told me about how he went to see Whitesnake but because he had travelled down from Scotland and was tired, he fell asleep and missed the whole set! I'd have been gutted it that happened to me!

Another interesting call was a guy who was a Manic Depressive. He'd spent time in a mental hospital, before moving on to a respite home. He told me that he'd used his recovery time to write poetry and read me a couple. I'd never heard anything so beautiful in my life. He really is talented.

He also read me one he'd written about his dad. "I never knew my dad," he told me. "So I decided to write this."

It nearly had me in tears, it was so moving. I definitely enjoyed talking to him, and I asked him to call again. Next time, I'll read him some of my poetry.

Last night's shift wasn't brilliant. The calls are tailing off again, which is never good. All of them were short. To be quite honest, I think it may be time to move on. I'm looking into a few companies, and I've already applied to one, so we'll have to see what happens. I will remain amicable with my current company though, as it pays to keep your options open.

Blokey having a tough time of it lately. His best friend died a few months ago, and it's affected him pretty bad. Keeps waking up from terrible nightmares. He's due at the doctors next week, so I'm going to go with him, and try and get him to have some bereavement counselling. I think he will benefit from it.

I'm aching for a night out though. I haven't been down the pub in months! Almost forgotten what beer tastes like. I think, once I get myself sorted with work, a girls night out is definitely at the top of the list. Need a good blow-out!
