change is inevitable

Mood: reflective
Listening to: my ipod

i've been away for a long time.  i've been very busy, i started a university degree and have been astonished at the amount of reading i have to do.  i'm loving it because reading helps learning.  i am enjoying my course as i have met a lot of good people and the discussions we have really get the brain working.

lately there have been a lot of events that have beeen very challenging. my beliefs have been shaken by things out of my control. this is a time for honesty and for family and friends being supportive and available.  what once was is no longer and finding a new way to be in the world seems to be the answer.

for emotionally challenging times it is so important to reach out and ask for help.

Making Changes

Mood: Ping
Listening to: Tribe Called Quest

At the start of the year some of us like to make changes.  I did so myself.  I decided to do something small (really is beautiful) and detox my mind and body.
Did any of you out there know that your body detoxes from stored emotions?
As well as eliminating toxins from my body I also eliminated a lot of stored emotions that didn't serve me.  I feel so much better.
Anyone out there felt the same and know what I mean?
Instead of 'trying' to feel and be positive, I just naturally feel it.  I have loads more energy, my outlook and optimism have increased and as an added bonus my relationships have improved.
RESULT!

Small really is beautiful.

Mood: Calm and contented

The new year is always a good time to make changes. I have found over the years that new year's resolutions are a good idea but can leave you feeling disappointed and a failure if by the 2nd of January, most of them have been broken. A method I have adopted is to just give myself a break, accept that I can change small things first and take it from there. Small manageable steps seem to bring much more satisfaction than attempting to do the whole thing at once. Afterall who can eat a whole christmas pudding in one go!

Saying what needs to be said.

Mood: feeling good

Have you ever noticed how you can be in a situation and not say what you want to say? How does that make you feel? What is it like to leave a situation having not expressed yourself? When I find myself in a situation like this I follow these tips, they don't always work as the circumstances of each event are different but when I do use them I feel sooooo much better. I'd like to learn anything that works for you! 1. Go over what you want to say in your mind, think it out (not for too long) 2. Take a deep breath. 3. Make eye contact. 4. Say it! 5. Congratulate yourself for just doing it!
