My Momma Is Hilarious

Mood: Disgusted. I hate these things.
Listening to: Nothin.

First of all, I want to show you guys an email that momma sent me. I was laughing SO hard! This is hilarious because we both have a severe phobia of these things and we'll both scream and run from them. My cousin Heather is also terrified of these. I. Hate. These. Bugs. With. A. Passion.

"SHELLY, last night I was asleep at mom’s.  Sometimes I turn on the fan just to have the noise and it puts me to sleep.  Well, the fan will kind of blow air around and stuff.  In the middle of the night my forehead started tickling.  So I reached up to scratch it and put my hand on a spricket …. ON MY HEAD.  The next thing I remember is the light was on and I was standing in the kitchen.  I didn’t start breathing normal until I got to work."

 Too Funny

Ok, now I'm sure ya'll are wondering what is a spricket and why am I laughing so hard? Before I show you what a spricket is, let me explain how I am extremely terrified of these things as well. They jump as high as my knee. How do I know? Well, they've done it. They land and they CLING. When I see one, I scream and run the other direction. I've also watched one of these lil bad boys carry a piece of dog food on their back!!

World, may I introduce to you the "SPRICKET"!!

Just looking at this picture makes me breathe faster and makes me want to take bout 40 billion showers. I CAN NOT stand these things! I have shivered in my seat 30 thousand times just tryin to find this picture and now I feel like they're crawling all over me. Here is what they really are and their right name:

Camel Crickets

Camel crickets are tan, humped-backed, and have a body length of about 3/4 inch. Unlike field crickets, camel crickets are wingless. Camel crickets (also known as cave crickets) are found in cool, damp, and dark areas. Outdoors, they are often found under logs and stones and they feed on plant debris. Camel crickets are not attracted to light. When they enter homes, camel crickets search for conditions similar to their outdoor environment, which often leads them to basements and other dark areas. Indoors they sometimes feed on paper products. They seldom chew fabrics.

**note: they do eat dog food and they spit this brown stuff out. They also chewed my mawmaw's quilt so they do eat on fabrics sometimes. They are horrible and hideous. They look like a jumping spider only bigger. They're bigger than a quarter and I've seen them as big round [just the body] as a half dollar piece! HORRIBLE EVIL LITTLE CREATURES THAT SHOULD DIE INSTANTLY!
