After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst. John 19:28

The Lord Jesus started His work hungry and finished it thirsty. He would never provide for Himself first, but always for others. On the cross He died in order to satisfy the spiritual hunger of our hearts and the spiritual thirst of our souls. --Tom Steere
