“No ammo?” the girl asked.
The man hesitated. “I-I-I'll kill you any way!” He swung the gun, aiming for her with the stock.
She dodged it and grabbed it. With a thrust, she pulled it away.
“Witch!” the man yelled.
“Bounty hunter!” the girl snapped.
The man took a closer look at the girl. She had red eyes. They burned like fire and were as hallow as a black hole. She was wearing a black cloak and she had long brown hair that was tied up high with a long ribbon.
“Well…” the man sighed. “What should I call you, witch?” he said, empathizing her lineage.
“Call me, Fay.”
“Fay? That's a silly name for a witch,” the man mocked her.
“Well that's my name! Tell me what yours is. Tell me now!” She took a step closer.
“Jon.”
“Jon, huh?” she looked him over he was wearing a dark brown trench coat and he had almost shoulder length dirty, blond hair. She looked at his eyes. “You have hazel eyes…” She giggled
“Umm…yeah…” Jon sighed. Hmmm…what is she getting at? He thought. No matter. I have to get outta here!
Her laughing quieted. “I wanna know. What was the price on my head?”
“That's classified,” Jon turned away from her.
“Face me,” she placed her hand under his chin and brought his face close to her.
“What are you planning? Are you going to destroy me or send me to oblivion?” He looked down at the ground.
Fay laughed again. “What stories have you been reading?” She untied the ribbon that held her hair up. Her hair fell down to her waist in slight waves. She looked at him and grinned.
He looked at her again. Why is she smiling? He thought. …And wait. Her eyes they aren't red anymore there hazel…Hazel?
“You who hunt thee in the night…” Fay started to chant as she twisted the long ribbon around, “may this tie you up real tight!” With that the bow flew from her hands and tied up around his neck. It twisted in an elaborate display and it locked into a tight knot.
“HEY!” Jon yelled as he tugged at the knot. He grasped at his leash and pulled as hard as he could.
“Come,” she ordered and the rope pulled him along to follow her.
Jon drove the heels of his shoes into the ground and leaned back. “Where are you taking me?! Witch!!!” he struggled.
Fay turned to him. “I told you that my name is Fay. Call me Fay, not witch. I never wanted these powers. But…that's beside the point. Come now.”
“Huh,” Jon cocked his head as he was dragged. Never...?
