DECEMBER ROSE


roses blooming
by the door
in early December

I bend
to inhale
sweet essence

I'm worried
that love's face
is always pale

though I must believe
it can survive
even frosts  

I have recently published a story: Nobble Hospital of the Aegean by Paul Judges. The title is a little unusual - it is just a play on words - noble (you know what that means) and nobble (some form of handicapping - normally applied to horses, but could happen to a person while being looked after in a foreign hospital !).
