Happy Camel Day Ya'll
Well it's a cloudy day here in Nevada and I can't tell whether there is smoke in the air or it is just cloudy near the mountians. Doesn't look much like rain, though you never can tell out here. The famous saying "If you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes, It'll change" is so true around here. I guess that is what weather in the high desert is like. At least it has been for as long as I remember (as I have lived in Nevada most of my life). I sure hope it does rain today though, it might cool things off as it's been in the 100's lately. Also that would mean no road construction....that would be freakin awesome!!!!!!!
They have tore up all the main roads in town, so basically I can't go anywhere without having to go thru it somewhere. I can get to work fine (Cuz I come in at the butt crack of dawn) but lunch and afterwork SUCK...they have the road in front of where I work all tore up and there is no other way into town without going thru the mess somewhere.
Other than that, it is FREEZING in the office, I am so cold, the AC is on and it's not that hot out yet....grrrr...I am always cold at work in the mornings and have my jacket on, though it may be 80 or 90 degrees outside! Haa haa...
Anyways, it's Camel Day so that is good. I also think I may be crawling out of the current funk I have been in. I have a HUGE project that I am being put on, my first one and I am really nervous, especially since the company we are working with seem like they are going to be difficult to work with. At least they are not just throwing me out to the wolves.
Anyways, other than that, I have to go shopping tonight, probably not until like 7 to avoid road construction, but I need to get things for the BBQ we are having for work on Friday...I am making a Jello Poke-Cake. If you've never had it your missing out! My boyfriend turned me onto it, he got the recipe when he was living in Missouri and working as a cook at a nursing home (which makes sense as this cake is easy to eat, and perfect in hot weather). Then on Saturday my parents and little brother are going to come over for the evening and probably stay the night with us as they live 60 miles away and we would like to have Cocktails while we are hangin out and BBQ-ing. I am excited as they will get to see our house now that we live in it. They saw it as a construction zone, when all we had done was the kitchen. I think they will be impressed. I did some painting last night, touch ups mainly and covering the nice artwork that my boyfriends kid left on our white doors. Tonight I am gonna do some cleaning (and shopping,
see I didn't forget). Not the most fun, but hey it has to be done. I should be getting back to work. Can't wait for the Hillbilly Challenge, I missed it last week!
