Stephen Harpers' hidden Senate Agenda?

Stephen Harper can't stomache a Liberal dominated Senate.  Hence try to change it.

Now, by electing Senators, Steve can formulate the prerequisites required just to run for Senator.  This would be much like writing a contract so tight that it is geared towards one company only, your favourite company.

This has me thinking that Steve must have some friends lined up, if he can pull off the Senate reform that he would like.

My questions are;

does a running Senator wannabe have to have a Party affiliation?

does a running Senator wannabe have to put down a 20 000 dollar deposit? (to keep the masses from running and ruining the Institution with single mothers etc versus well connected wealthy friends)  I have nothing agianst anyone, this is just for thoughts sake.

Stephen Harper, in my minds eye would prefer the business elite to run the Senate of course, he finds solace in economics.

Shall all running hopefulls be declared as strictly bi-partisan?

Can a person hopefully run on a "no finance" campaingn as one can today in Fed, Prov, elections?

Or, as it is now, Stephen can just appoint me, a disabled person to the Senate representing Ontario and all disabled people, giving a voice.  I guarentee my health has cut my life expectancy by 10 to 15 yrs anyway.  So Stephen, there is one of my selling points, I just might not be around to long.

Alas, Steven I am sure wants the business elite, to take a global view of Bills presented to the Senate, not just domestically Canadian or a tighter view restricting to just the Province they represent.

It saddens me, heavy sigh, that Steven, if he gets a majority, will put up many financial obstacles.

So much for the average person.

WHAT IRKS STEPHEN HARPER THE MOST IS THE TWO SENATE COMMITTEE HEARINGS SAYING THAT FLOWERS PICKED FROM THE HERB CANNABISS SHOULD BE LEGAL AND ARE LESS HARMFULL THAN CIGERETTES AND ALCOHOL

This brings me to believe that another impediment that Harper would throw up would be something like a Parliament hearing grilling a would be Senator to see if they are of the same ideoligy.

cheers :) majere
