Those Evironmentalists are barking up the wrong tree by going after the Government proper.

The Environment is not a Major issue regardless of what Dion states.

Instead, why not lobby that Scooters and Mopeds/E-Bikes of 50 cc displacement only requires a car drivers license, not a motercycle licence or some such licence that requires the person to take another driving test.

This is not like driving a Goldwing 1000 where you need several people to pick up.  Its a powered bicycle or close to it.

Give people a green tax incentive equivalant to reciving back 30 percent of the purchase price at tax time.  Look at how many people you could get out of cars in the major cities.

The Smart Car also deserves a tax incentive for this well OVER-PRICED car.  Give 30 percent back of the total purchase price at tax time and watch this little 800cc diesal engine soar beyond belief.

Of course, evironmentalists want everything now, no cars, mass transit, and a massive increase in fuel prices to force people.

Why force people when you can encourage through a 30 percent back of total price........thats 30 percent after all the additional costs are added on, PDI and taxes.  When you force a person - they force back just as much.

The environmentalists could do better lobbying - but I guess their green coloured glasses want everything NOW in this instant society that we now have.

Of course, if the government only gives a small tax credit not worth mentioning like their 1 percinet drop in GST ( 20 dollars a yr to me ), then the above is all for not.

Then they can go after retro-fitting homes, but how many homeowners have the money to say put up 50 percent of an upgrade with the Government putting up the other 50 percent???????????????????
