Stephon Dion Dictates that one third of all Candidates in the next election shall be women.
Nothing like the ole boys network dictating from the Top Down. This guy has to go and be replaced by me.
ME, yes, I would HIGHLY ENCOURAGE WOMEN, not appoint in a Dictatorial style.
Stephon Dion does give himself a way out of his promise by stating that its only a benchmark. How slippery can one get. Say one thing and know it won't happen anyway.
By not setting a meaningless quota for Cabinet Positions for women shows a distrust in the present time for women that will carry over if he becomes Prime Minister.

VANCOUVER -- Liberal Leader Stephane Dion says women will make up one-third of the party's candidates in the next federal election.
He says he's establishing the benchmark because the number of women running in previous elections remains low.
And, he says that's a problem if Canada wants to be "an exemplary democracy.''
Dion says in the last election only one quarter of the candidates were women.
He would not, however, commit to setting a quota for female cabinet members should he become prime minister.
Vancouver Centre MP Hedy Fry says finding a way to increase female membership in the House of Commons is something that Dion has actively sought.
