Everyday Canadians by Stephen Harper and his Conservatives .......

by: majere

Fri Jan 13, evening.

What kind of subliminal shallow first year psych wannabe Phd. wrote the line about "Everyday Canadians" in Harpers' opening letter in HIS platform?  (HIS because I have been playing - where is Petey mmkay and many other memebers)

"Everyday Canadians - the hardworking people who pay their taxes and play by the rules - want and deserve a new government that will put the peoples interest ahead of self-interest."

How many Canadians out of 33 million don't work anymore due to disability or retirement?  I guess they are not "Everyday Canadians".  Ya never know, some retirees never had to lift a finger.......spouse worked only.  Dem dare disability folks walking around with canes and in wheelchairs are probally just fake-ing and proballllly won't vote anyway.

How many Canadians out of 33 million are too young to work anyway?  Well I guess they are not "Everyday Canadians".  Heck, they can't vote anyway but lets give them something to strive for ........like being an "Everyday Canadian" when they grow up.  Lets start brain-washing them now by saying that they are not part of the the hip-club called "Everyday Canadians".  Lets use any shred of developing patriotism against them to become like us.

How many Canadians don't pay taxes?  Guess they really don't count in Stevies' eyes as "Everyday Canadians".  Probally will vote NDP or Fiberal anyway.  Yea its coming, Stevie has been quoted in the past putting down people on "generous benefits".

How many Canadians perform their civic democratic duty to get bad laws nullified?  "play by the rules" (His Rules as He sees fit as the law maker of the land),   Well, I think that is why Stevie is wondering if he can cramm 3 to 4 people per one person jail cell instead of the now 2 to 3 people per jail cell.  Fill dem dare room with dem poles for doors with them yung wons of 14.  Don't forget to throw in grandma and grandpa for growing a benigne herb using the "sea of green" technique which puts them into Federal Jail territory.  Yea, grandma and grandpa are reeeeal criminals with their cannabis tea and cookies.  (do they get to share the same cell?  Adjoining perhaps?)

NOW, take away all these folks and you now have people ("Everyday Canadians"), who are, according to Stevie who is  reading ALL of their minds (omni-science) that they are wanting a new government that puts their interest behind the collective interest (communism or facism?)  "peoples interest ahead of self-interest".

Hey, yea its coming on like a bad "Daily Show blurb by John Stewart" except the punch line would have to come from a Shakespeare tradegy, and I can't think of any.

All I can think of is one word and the reason behind it ....... yup ..........hate.

The only reason a person "hates" is that what the person hates is "not like him".  The lack of acceptance to what is different to him and his beliefs.

Stevie has learned well over the past couple of years from the imploding Fiberals.

cheers :) majere

hopefully more parsing on his platform later...... the ndps' don't count.

Harper has learned well.

by: majere

Friday, 0106 hrs in the morning

Stevie did not wonder what went wrong last election for the Cons.  He knew.  Loose lips and considered non-mainstream policies.  The media did not help either.

Ok, everyone already knows this.

Recap this Con learned election.  No loose lips ala Randy White, no policies that are known to cater to the Bible Fundalmentalists, and guess what(?) the media is jumping on the winners bandwagon.

Go figure, eh.

Thats all it took.  Lie in general like the Fiberals.  Technical speak so technically your not lie-ing.  Promise meaningless-ly, ala 400 million for affordable houseing.  Sounds good to the average Canuk voter showing how much you care,  most voters who know its not for them and that it can be said that they do not know anything about affordable houseing and how it works anyway, eh.  Oh, it doesn't count because 400 million divided by a million dollars per six-plex equals 400 sixplexes times 6 families equals 2400 hundred families.  Ok, it sounds like a lot, but now divide that by say......10 provinces, and that equals 240 families per province.  Sorry Cons, but 240 or so families for lets say  just Toronto...........and area..........just doesn't cut it.

Harper has learned from the Fiberals.

"The poor do not pay taxes".  I beg to differ Stevie but the average Canuk is also un-informed in this area.  Working poeple above the welfare rate and below the poverty line do pay  income taxes.  So the line, "the poor do not pay taxes" is technically correct only if one is on welfare.  Good one Stevie, not lie-ing by a simple technicality.

oh yea, and the working poor buy next to nothing that has the GST on it..........

Harper has learned from the Fiberals.

Mandatory minimums for crimes committed by a hand gun.  Stevie playing the emotional versus rational card.  The general voter is emotionally directed towards handguns then sticking them with a get tough policy on hand-guns.  Good one Stevie.  Why do those crimminals get more than vicious rapes or pedophilia?  How come Stevie?  Oh yea, I remember, the voters right now have not been emotional driven in that area this election.  Oh, and most of those guns got across Our Border guards that you and the Fiberals are responsible for.  Yes, even you when you were sitting in Opposition.  I did not hear you complaining but only twice about the border guards......only when you had to.  Mandatory sentances for gun crimes do not stop the smuggling of hand guns.

Harper has learned from the Fiberals.

I gotta say it.

Its true.

I did not make this up.

cheers :) majere

the ndp and jack still do not count .......... really.  whats a voter to do?

First the "Not Withstanding Clause" issue, and yes, I am back, chronic illnesses suck.

by: majere

Friday at 0010 in the morning eating perrogies.

First, the Charter and Constitution is the directive from the people of Canada which tells the elected officials how to run the country and the elected officials bounderies.

Get it?

The Charter is from the poeple, not from lawyering politicians.

It was the lawyering politicians that wanted the "Clause" in case they could not control the populace in general terms.  The politicians control escape valve would be to use the "Clause" to remove Charter Rights which enable more Parlimentary power over the populace.  Remember Bush and Co. (para phrase) you have to give up some Rights so we can protect you against those scary fearfull boogey men (terrorists).  In a nutshell of course, more power to the elected officials over us.

Unfortunately, the tipping point for the populace at large to regain control of elected officials is long past.

Unless, the "Clause" is removed.  Good or Bad, Fearfull or Joy?

Fear from the Cons, a desperate move on the Libs part.  Politicians relinquishing a control valve.

Fear from the Courts?  Sorry.  If a Canadian does not understand that Courts can only uphold laws and strike down bad ones.  Courts cannot make laws.  Only Parliament can create or modify laws.

Fear from the slippery slope that Courts could bring in a law such as abortion or Poligamy is a fallacy.  Courts do not make laws, remember?  Only Parliament can.

Courts can only strike down bad laws.   How this would lead to the lack of womens in general choice is a stretch of ignorance.

Too bad there are many that lack the knowledge of their own Constitution and Charter.  Just think, a knowledgeable populace properly educated in our Countries educational system......now THAT would put fear into Politicians hearts.
