Mood: Up because of the Dutch
Listening to: Pheonix Suns game - go Nash

You know I could not pass this up.
The Americans losing control of other Countries through their Non-Government Organizations.  The Right Wingers must be peeved.  How dare the Dutch not give up their Soverignty, their almost fully legal cannabis laws.  How dare they flaunt their Libertarian views of "live and let live, but don't do it my backyard where it is my choice without government intervention".  I laugh at the Right Wing Yanks alongside my Dutch friends.  I respect the Dutch peoples desire for ever increasing individual soveringty in the face of the mighty Yanks.

There I go but for Canada not allowing me all of my three pension cheques.  And the wife and I both being disabled does not help.  I just know there is a houseboat over there with my name on it.

Oh, to the Right Wingers of Canada, take a look at the Netherlands, Canada will be there soon, Our Charter demands it.

cheers :) majere ( a libertarian socialist conservative)

Voters in the Netherlands have overwhelmingly rejected the proposed European Union constitution.

Provisional final results indicated that 61.6% of voters said "No" to the charter and 38.4% approved it.

Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende, who campaigned for a "Yes" vote, said he would respect the result.

The vote deals what could be a decisive blow to the constitution, which was also rejected by French voters in a referendum at the weekend.

Mr Balkenende said he was "very disappointed" with the result but he said his government would honour the vote, which was consultative rather than legally binding.

The turnout was 62.8%, more than the double the level politicians said was needed for the vote to be accepted as the public's verdict on the treaty.

With some postal ballots still to be counted, the official result is not expected till 6 June.

Mr Balkenende said that despite the result, the ratification process should continue in other countries.

This was echoed by German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder.

"Every member state has the right, and a duty, to go through its own vote," he said.

Nine countries have ratified the constitution, including Germany. But it needs to be approved by the EU's 25 member states to become law.

Popular discontent

One of the leading "no" campaigners in the Netherlands, right-wing politician Geert Wilders, told reporters he had not expected such a decisive result - which exceeded poll predictions.

"I am extremely happy with it," he said.

"If you realise that two-thirds of parliament supported the constitution and two out of three people in the land are against, it means a lot is wrong in the country."

The BBC's Geraldine Coughlan in The Hague says many voters feel that Brussels has too much power and that their national politicians are not protecting them enough.

"No" supporters are also afraid of Brussels interfering in their liberal policies on soft drugs and gay marriage, they are disillusioned with the single currency, the Euro, and some disagree on rapid EU enlargement, our correspondent adds.

The centre-right government and major opposition parties had supported the draft constitution and argued that it would enhance Dutch influence in Europe.

The document was signed last year, after lengthy negotiations between members states.

It brings together for the first time the many treaties and agreements on which the EU is based. It defines the powers of the EU, stating where it can and cannot act and where the member states retain their right of veto.

It also defines the role of the EU institutions.

The constitution was rejected by 55% of French voters in a referendum on Sunday.

Has Steven Harper leader of the Conservative Party of Canada learned anything about Party Solidarity ..... nope.

by: majere

What can I say, Harper did not learn anything about Party solidarity from what I wrote here, sorry link thingy not working.  Its msg number 36252 titled "Solidarity hurts the Conservative Party"  which is dated 23 May 05.

Harper!  Your synapses are crossed.  Your cerebal cortex is blown.

My advice, start thinking a little deeper.  Why?  I'll answere with questions.

Did you not know that they would attack the messenger?
Did you not know the messenger has had credability problems in the past?
Did you not know that you cannot state you have approximately 4 hours of tape, not the released approximately 2 hours?
Did you not know that the Liberals can do simple math like basic subtraction; 4 minus 2 equals 2 missing hours - why?
Did you not know that it was politicians talking to politicians and politicians speak how?
Did you not know that there was not one hundred percent proof of a crime?

Did you think that you could expose the Liberals for underhandness?
Did you think that you could convince the voters of Canada of this?
Did you think that your Party is above this underhandness with your own Parties credability problems?

Did you honestly think that with Grewals' past that he can be shown as credable to the Public?

Sorry to say, these are first level depth thoughts.
Second level is to take a first level thought, then determine what the Libs would say, then determine if it is worth it.
The Third level would be to counter the Liberals with a second level release.

But here is the kicker Harper.  When countering the Liberals, make sure you can counter each and every single Liberal point.  NOT just parrot "deal" was said so many times to each question plse.  YOUR buzz phrases are not proper thought out Lib counters.  You are attacking without a Lib baseline established in your response.

And you had how much time to think this up?

Or are you dealing with idiots within your caucus that just can't think beyond the next 20 minute spotlight?

Either you views of the sophistication of the electorate is very low, or like I have said, you've blown your cerebal cortex out.

Sorry to sound so harsh, but you have to learn to control the "idiot variables" within ones Party ....... okay?

edit added;  Oh by the way, I hope you are successful in getting the lie-ing dirty bastards charged and arrested with something.  Just like I am hoping to get one of Peter McKays old collegues busted S. David Frankel, Q.C.  for his lie-ing to the Regional Deputy Attorneys' Office, which I have written about earlier in this blog.  But you don't want to hear about that now, do you? - It proves one hundred percent that cannabis is as legal as turnips, by the truck load.

'nuff said

Here is an example of what Harper has to clean up ........ totaly

by: majere

What is Harper going to do about the below snipped article?  It shows how the Police who are hired to represent the Government to Protect the Public and Serve the Public now act on their own as Judge and Jury.  If it was me, I would have fired the Police Officers during a Public Announcement, then had them arrested and charged and as an aside Government Policy, forfiet their Pension.  But thats just me.  I don't think I would like cops going around harrassing whomever they please, what if its me, or my wife, or my parents, or my relatives?  So what is the Cop Shop doing? Nothing so far.  Is it just a few rogue cops as the Govenment always offers an excuse?  I never buy that excuse as most supervisors of People can spot an asshole who just doesn't give a shit about Protecting the Public and Serving the Public.  On that note, his supervisor whould lose a Rank permanently (with no chance for any future promotion).  edit;  ok, a little harsh for the supervisor, they should lose one rank for at least a year before haveing to compete again for their former rank.

A Rough Ride
Cops took panhandlers bicycle

Radhika Panjwani and Brian Gray,
Toronto Sun

A Brampton real estate agent and a surveillance tape spoke up when Toronto Police thought a homeless man was giving them the gears.

Loren Campbell says he used his savings from two months of panhandling to buy himself a new red bicycle from Zellers on May 6.

But one week ago, police officers confiscated the bike at Eastern and Carlaw Aves, because, Campbell says, they didn’t believe him when he told them it was his.

“They pepper-sprayed me,” Campbell, 40, said. “I told them I had bought the bike from a Zellers store and showed them the receipt.”

But the numbers on the register tape had faded and police wouldn’t take his word for it, he said.

Real estate agent Roderick Stewart – a frequent contributor to Campbell’s coffers over the last six months – first heard the story Thursday when he walked by the panhandler in his usual haunts on Yonge St. south of St. Clair Ave.

“I believed him,” Stewart said. “He knew dates and places so I checked it out.”

Stewart, 47, went to the Zellers at Victoria Park and Danforth Aves, and staff there went through the surveillance tapes -- where they found visual evidence of Campbell buying the bike.

So Stewart took the tape and a duplicate receipt to the 55 Division police station at Coxwell Ave. and Dundas St. E, on Friday.

“They took it upstairs, and I guess that was enough for them,” Stewart said.

Police gave the $200 bike back yesterday, but without the locks Campbell said he needs to ensure his bike isn’t stolen overnight. “(The Police) know how to take your stuff from you but they sure don’t know how to give them back, do they?” an irate Campbell said, waving the keys for his lock on the steps of 55 Division.

Stewart said he would buy the homeless man some security for his one worldly possession until police hand back the $70 lock Campbell insists they still have. “Everything he has said has been truthful from the get-go,” Stewart said.

Police at the station refused to comment yesterday and referred questions to a police superintendant, who will review the case today.

Let me describe the victim of this bit of 'police protection' ...

He's described as a 'homeless person', who is probably not 5 feet tall. He is so small, the bicycle he bought is a kid's bike, one of those mock easy rider things, with a rear wheel that is probably about 12" across, and the front wheel is probably 15 inches. (The normal bicycle wheel is 21" or so ...)

In the picture, he's is sitting on the recovered bicycle in front of his benefactor, and he comes up to his waist. He's so short, he's probably considered 'disabled'.

This is what affects Ontario Voters, Police Harrassment which translates to Government harassment which of course is the Government tramping all over Individual Soveringty.
