Sunny D

Was a lovely day today, bought some stuff at the Garden centre to plant,
I have decided to move everything from the top bed by the shed in order to get some veg in the ground
This should free up a patch roughly 2Mx1M
Planted some purple dragon carrots and a tray of Delphiniums, I also found some delphinium seeds I harvested from the plantslast year so it will be good to compare the two types, hopefully this will be the last time I buy delph seeds.

Beans and Courgette

I planted one of the courgette seeds I was given (Defender F1) and all 6 of the runner beans (Polestar). I am starting the beans in pots at the bottom of the greenhouse but I have prepared a small patch for them to be planted into, this may be the only veg I will put in the ground.
On Wednesday night I sowed the cosmos (Sensation Tall Mix) and the Marigold (Sunspot Orange)

From left to right :
Top - Tomato(Gartenperle) and spring onion (white lisbon)
Courgette (Defender F1) , Tomato
Middle - Spring Onion (White Lisbon) ,Lupin and Lobelia, tomato
2nd Middle - Sunflower (Kong F1) , Dahlia (B.O.L), Cosmos & Marigold
Bottom - Runner Bean (Pole Star)

Patch for the beans.

The weather was terrible this morning so no golf !!
It went really nice in the afternoon so I took the oppertunity to sow some more seeds.
The Newspaper pots are great :)

Sunflower Kong F1 - 4 seeds
Sunflower Velvet Queen - 4 seeds
Pea - snap /Mangetout - 4 seeds
Tomato - Gardener's Delight - 4 seeds

So far I haven't been able to get any decent sunflowers but this year will be different.... I know.

Spring Onions

Sowed some modules full of spring onions today,I picked thius tip up from someone on the a4a forum.
Put about 10 to 15 seeds per module and when they are big enough transplant the whole clump in one go.Apparently the success rate is much higher this way.The newspaper pots contain Tomatoes - Chelsea F1

Peas

I transplanted my first batch of peas today.
I used a trough from the garden centre and drilled some holes in the bottom for drainage.I would say I could probably get another 5 plants into it.I am hoping that the planting positions should mean they will support each other as they grow.
