Baltic Coast

by: Island

We spent a couple of days at the baltic coast in Groemitz.

We picked Jojo up after the kindergarten and she was like a greyhound running to the car, knowing we go away to the coast.

We had a nice apartement and went swimming in the saltwater pool twice. This time Jojo and Pete tried together the big water slide. It is more for adults or kids from about 10 years. So they both tried it togehter, they wanted to do it like this:

Than they came down the long slide, it looked a bit different, but they had both fun:

All you can see is Jojo and Petes feed coming down the water slide. They did this about 10 times....

Jojo discovered at the beach a new playground, well, more a big net with a slide. She loved it and spent hours climing on it. She was quite pleased with herself that she could climb on top of it...

This picture on top we took at about 7 oclock in the morning, on the way back getting breakfast rolls at the beach (in the back the baltic coast

Jojo is quiete pleased with herself climbing so high...

world childrens day

by: Island

Today Pete had a cold and stayed at home. Yogi, Jojo and me went to a big free children festival in a big park in the city (not far from us).20.000 people have been there last year. Lots of "jumping castles", Trampolin, stages, make up for kids and big playgrounds. First we went to a stage to see some of the groups Yogi has driven before, we saw the band from Southafrica, than we went to a big playground with bridges and slides. Back to the stage. Jojo did ask me "which group is playing"? I told her, a group from India and Jojo said: "ok than Yogi can take me near them, I want to see them please". She did like them, children dancing and singing.

We saw Sabine and Kallie and other friends. Went again to see other places, to this places were you can jump , again playground and sie did run and run and run... Sometimes she was shouting "jumpen" and she went to Trampolin, playground again... Between all she did eat everything we had with us, the bread and all fruits and cucumber, tomatos. We bought er a sausage and a corn cob. Than we went to a stage with a magician and that was great. He made a show with ballons, and she was clapping her hands, was excited, laughed, it was great. At the end it started raining, but we only left as he really stoped his show. 6 hours we spend on that festival. We went home with a very happy Jojo, she told Pete all about it and showed him how a tissue and a ballon disapears. As she was in bed she said "it was a wonderful day, thank you ". I did asked her "what did you like most" and she said "the magician"...

Grapes

by: Island

We have lots and lots of very delicious sweet grapes in the garden. Pete did buy a book about grape-cutting and did lots to them last year. And it seems to work, we dont know what to do with all the grapes. Pete is quite proud, all the other neighbours havent got any grapes this year...

We had the idea to make vine, but for that we have to get prepared as well, it doesnt seem to be that easy, have to read an other book, get some stuff and maybe next year we can make some "Hamburg Vine"...

Friends in the garden

by: Island

Jojo was excited, on saturday 2 friends from the kindergarden came to our garden, Mareile and Emil (with brother and sister and the parents).

Jojo helped to clean before they arrived:

Pete put up the tents, slide and other toys and the kids had lots of fun playing. We had luck with the weather again, a warm sunny latesommerday. We had all lunch together and all sausages were gone... As well Blackburrys, strawberrys, tomatos and grapes from the garden. As we drove home about 6 oclock, Jojo said: "that was exhausting, but sooo wonderful"... (why does a 3 years old use a word like "exhausting"? Really, we didnt used it, well, not in that connection!

Jojo and Mareile playing

Jojo played after all left 1/2 hour happily on her own:

streetfestival

by: Island

Last weekend pete had to got to an other gig, this time he took the train to Berlin and drove together with the Equals to Halle, next day they took the plane to Vienna, Monday evening he flew back to Hamburg.

Yogi, jojo and me went on sunday to a streetfestival were our copyshop is as well (part of St. Pauli). It is one of the nicest streetfestivals in Hamburg, not comerzial, nice people and the sun was shining...(poor Pete was missing it) Jojo wantet desperatly buy a book with her own money on the flewmarket. She spent lots of time on playgrounds, it is quiete funny, wherever we go, some kids know her, you always her "Hello Jojo". After a couple of hours she was so tired that she fall asleep.

Yogi and Jojo (deep asleep on the streetfestival) sitting in front of the copyhop

Sabine and Fritzi sold as well things on the flewmarket in front of the copyshop, Jojo is stell asleep...

At about 8 we were back home, Jojo was very awake of course, whe slept about 3 hours. And she bought a book on the flewmarket for 20 cents "The Crunching Munching Caterpillar". Jojo fall asleep about midnight after we had to read the books backwards...

6 hours after we left the streetfestival in the "Schanze", a newspaper took this photo, the same view as the picture above, with the copyshop on the right, but no flewmarket. Every year the same...

Techniker Assistant II

by: Island

Again Pete, Yogi and Jojo went to a gig, this time for 2 days and they had to drive about 1500 miles in 2 2/1 days. Jojo did it wonderful, although she said after they left at 5.30 in the morning after 1 mile "are we at the hotel soon"? she sits in the back in her childrens seat and is talking, singing and playing and looking for books or eating. They had a very good hotel in Baden - Baden, with a swimming pool, so yogi and Jojo went swimming, she just loves swimming, the only problem was to get her out of the water...Yogi said, even in the water she was talking and she said while she was swimming "you always have to shut your mouth in the water" she did say this and had to cough because her mouse was full of water...

She could go as well with Pete, Yogi and Ronny to the Soundcheck..

Packing the equipment for the soundcheck, jojo is looking after it...

Ronny from the Equals and pete puting the drum together

In the front, Jupp from the Lords, on the right Pete, with the back dave Dee, all at the soundcheck

Dave Dee with pete and ronny in the back.

We saw Dave Dee and the Lords at the first gig we ever took Jojo, she was just 6 weeks old and we had to go about 500 miles to a castle near Heilbronn. Dave Dee said to Jojo "you got big"...(he has seen her a couple of times since than).

At the mixing desk, at the buggy are Jojos earprotectors she is wearing when it is getting loud...

Next morning after breakfast the had to drive about 450 miles to the "Erzgebirte", Nothing against this 4 star hotel "Steigenberger" in BAden-Baden, but it is nothing against this warmheared people in small hotels and places in the east of germany. Everybody at the gig said, it was just fun...
