Ringelnatz

by: Island

This time we went to a gig in Wurzen, near Leipzig. At 6 oclock in the morning we were on the motorway, Jojo was happy chatting on the back seat. After about 250 miles we had the first break, we found something with a nice little playground for Jojo and a burger for pete... Then we continued to Wurzen, a little town in the East. The Equals were supposed to play on a Cityfestival on the market place. Our tiny little hotel (about 500 years old) was direct at the market with a view to the stage (and to hear...)

Wurzen is the place of birth of Ringelnatz, a german poet, I had to tell Jojo about 5 times one of his poems:

 Joachim Ringelnatz

In Hamburg lived a couple of ants,
Who decided once, "Let's go to France!"
By Altona, on the Chaussee,
Their aching legs caused them to say,
"A shorter trip, that would be smart,
We'll just leave off the final part."

We browsed around the beautiful market place and Pete and Jojo refreshed with some water...>

Than Jojo was alowed to go on stage with her Daddy as Beat Club just did the soundcheck. of course she was wearing her ear protectors....

And than she was on the motorbike and her rabbit on the car next to her...

Pete was back from the gig about midnight, but the music on the market festival went still on till about 2 or 3 oclock

Next morning Jojo was awake about 530 and we left immidiatly without breakfast. We had more than 400 miles to go, near Kiel (not far from hamburg). Jojo and Pete were more than 3 hours asleep, we drove without any break and Jojo was just awake as we arrived at the beautiful hotel, we had reall lots of luck, a very very big room and jojo was happy, it had a bath! She could than have lunch and had all Spagehtis from her plate. We were eating outside in the garden and Jojo could go on the swing.

In the evening we had all Dinner together, jojo was sitting in her childrens chair and enjoying it, after dinner she went to a box where the Hotel had some things to play for children and she was happily playing on the floor. (I suppose she was happy playing after 6 1/2 hours in the car).

For Pete it was a long night again, he was back from the festival (an old traditional festival from showmakers, well there were about 8000 people around) at about 130 and very tired, luckily we were only 1 hour from Hamburg next day. And this time we had not to rush to the next gig, we had breakfast and went slowly home, well direct to the garden in this hot weather
