Another week half gone...

Can't believe another Wednesday has rolled around! Mind you, it has been a busy one at work, it seems as though Monday/Tues/Wed are now permanent, 9 - 5.15pm although I've been starting at 8.30 as it's the holidays and I don't have to do the school runs. These must be the most stress free holidays ever - I just leave the kids to it and find out what they've done after work! Cooking tea is a bit of a pain though as I'm not awfully organised so it's usually a bit of a scramble at the end.

We cheated and just had bacon, eggs, and bought chips tonight because we were in a hurry - Brent had Interclub here in Marton and Mike had his in Palmerston so I had to bolt my tea and take him over. I dropped him off about 7 then went and spent an hour and a half quite happily at The Warehouse - and half of my wages which is the down side. What did I buy? Selfish things mostly, a lovely slinky long black nightie with skinny little straps, very glam; and to balance that a pair of t-shirt material grey pjs, grandad button up pants and v neck top, very un-glam but extremely comfy (compliment indeed from a nightie wearer). Also some knickers sexy and knickers controlling with matching bra. Matching underwear, how indulgent!!!!  And a new shirt for work - definitely need more than one now that I'm working 3 days and sometimes more. Don't know if I'll show the underwear to husband, it'll make him go stupid. I really would like to do things like that sometimes but can't be bothered with the consequences so I just don't bother any more. Sigh.  Once again I feel guilty about spending. I guess it'll get out of my system sometime!

Oh yeah, also bought a fluoro pink A3 sized clearfile and a spiral bound book featuring lovely pink hibiscus type flowers on the cover to use as our Fiji books. Thought I could put photos and mementos in the clearfile, mounted on paper sort of scrapbook style, and use the book as an accompanying journal. I'm really looking forward to doing that.

I worked on Saturday too - we had the Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince book launch. It was fun, we weren't even allowed to open the cartons till 11.01 am as that coincided with the rest of the world. By 10.45 the shop was packed, the press was there, my wizard hat was being worn by boss's daughter, then boss, then some complete unknown.... it was all go! We sold about 120 copies, including pre-ordered books. Here they retailed for $29.95 although they have since gone up to $34.95. We had to keep low for the first couple of days to compete with the Warehouse.

Then today was Justin Marshall day - he came to sign his books. Hands up everyone who knows who Justin Marshall is?  Thinking people, this is NZ and our national game is rugby....that's right, he's an All Black. A very easy-on-the-eyes All Black, in fact we got no sense out of Amanda from the time she knew he was coming until he'd left today!! (Shame about his gorgeous wife and lovely children) Nah, I've always thought he was just a pretty-boy but was pleasantly surprised today, he was just lovely with the kids in the shop, even tho' he was only supposed to autograph copies of the book. His minder though, now she was another story entirely. Sort of a cross between Godzilla and Adolf Hitler but not as good looking as either. I know it's her job to keep to the schedule - and by the time he got to us at 12 noon he'd done 3 or maybe 4 signings at other shops and a radio interview - but oh boy she was dictatorial. Hello, do this, sit here, do that, time to go....

We're wondering how the week will finish with all that has gone on. I thought selling a Lotto Division 1 prize would be a good way...must get a ticket myself!

Going to take the boys to Palmy tomorrow, I think the film Madagascar is on the agenda although I might leave them there and go sssssshhhhhhh shopping  in peace. Then lunch. I guess it will be McD's - tho' Greg is harping on about his birthday lunch at Pizza Hut. We'll see.

Took Pip's pix over to her tonight, she was pleased. She'd been playing indoor netball in the cuzzies team and was very bright and happy, even pleasant to her mother. Well, relatively speaking. The uni teachers are going on strike on Friday so she might come home early.

Right, if I'm quick it will still be today not tomorrow when I get to bed but there's only 1 minute to go.

Night!!
