Like reading "NEW" blogs

I like reading new blogs - it's like meeting new friends. The only draw back is there are so many that haven't yet posted anything. Just an idea - perhaps Blogigo could hold off untill they actually post. Kind of like two catagories. One listing new people and one listing -actual new BLOGS.

Opportunity Log alias Blog Log

Opportunity # 1......Weight loss.......funny how opportunities and things pop out at you - out of the blue. Or come to you as a side thought.
Hubby and I are beginning to teach a couple of communication classes near by. The on site location will be requiring a lot of walking between each class.
    Me!
I've been doing a lot of complaining lately ....as to how I don't have time or desire to "EXERCISE"
Opportunity # 1 just presented its self. Or let's say it jumped up and smacked me right in the face. With all that walking - I know - THINGS WILL CHANGE.

What's in a name?

Nothing new here ..... I knew that my name ment "Hope " and that realy fits me well.
Sometimes tho I'm curious as to how we come to choose a persons name and what other forces may or may not be behind that particular choice.
I was always told that my name was chosen because it was the name of my fathers favorite opera singer. Interesting because we were poor country fokes....perhaps not the type that anyone would think - of us ever having an interest in operas. Never less ..... I love singing and sing in the same key that my name sake did.
If you're curious about your name try this link. http://www.zelo.com/firstnames/index.asp

Share and share alike

To know that I've made a difference. To know that someone else can breath easer.....to take a few more steps forward....to feel better about themselves.... to define their own success....etc.....etc....etc.
To me That would define SUCCESS. To truly share this with others - regardless of their belives - this is what I'd like to shout from every house top.
Why o why then are there so many - still sitting in the dark and damp bacements with their hands clamped so tightely over their ears?

One is enough

One line is enough......at least I think so. Would you rather some one said......
    Be fishers of men...you catch'em. He'll clean'em
    or
Go make an attempt to dip in to a large pool of a variety of mankind, in an attempt to so hook one or more of them to follow you and your belives. Then place every ounce of your trust into a spiritual idea or thought of a great savior - of all our sins, to convert this soul that you've caught.

The Perfect Women - Not Me! - Ha ha ha ha

Once upone a time, a perfect man and a perfect women met. After a perfect courtship, they had a perfect wedding. Their life was, of course, " perfect "
One snowy, stormy Christmas Eve, this perfect couple was driving their perfect car ( an SUV ) along a winding road, when they noticed someone at the side of the road in distress. Being the perfect couple, they stopped to help.
There stood Santa Claus with a huge bundle of toys. Not wanting to disapointe any children on Christmas Eve the perfect couple loaded Santa and his toys into their vehicle. Soon they were driving along delivering the toys.
Unfortunately, the driving conditions deteriorated and the perfect couple and Santa Claus had an accident. Only one of them survived the accident.
    Who was the survivor?
Ha ha ha ha ha I'll tell you tommorow.

Friends at any age.......

Upon arriving in our new home in Kentucky, my seven year old son Jason decided to explore the neighborhood. He was back with in the hour proclaming that he had made some new friends.
"Good. Are they boys or girls?" I asked. "One is a boy and one is a girl," he replyed. "That's great," I said. " How old are they?" "Mom," my son replyed almost shocked. " That would be very rude to ask."
I was puzzled at his responce. About an hour later, he was back. "Mom!" my son shouted through the screen door. " I found out how old my new friends are. The girl is 65 and the boy is 70."
Did it really matter that much? This piece was most likely written before 9/11 when we were all free to be......as Jason might say FRIENDS. Will there ever be a time when we can be that free......... again?

One for you.....

On the outskirts of a small town, there was a big, old pecan tree just inside the cemetary fence. One day, two boys filled up a bucketful of nuts and sat down by the tree, out of sight, and began deviding the nuts, "One for you, one for me. One for you, one for me," said one boy. Several dropped and rolled down toward the fence. Another boy came riding along the road on his bicycle. As he passed, he thought he heard voices from inside the cemetery. He slowed down to investigate. Sure enough, he heard, " One for you, one for me. One for you, one for me." He just knew what it was. He jumped back on his bike and rode off. Just around the bend he met an old man with a cane, hobbling along. "Come here quick," said the boy, " you wom't beleve what I heard! satan and the Lord are down at the cemetery deviding up the souls." The man said, "Beat it kid, can't you see it's hard for me to walk." When the boy insisted though, the man hobbled to the cemetery. Standing by the fence they heard, " One for you,...
