Progress or Big Brother?

by: jamryn

Beware - beware - beware some Assisted living homes set ups.  You might say why? Why would this concern me?  I'm still young and don't need this type of service yet.

I say if it is here now - more like it will come.  The photo showes an elderly couple - all smiles - standing in a  lovely garden setting. Nice?  Maybe - maybe not if there is a servalence camera watching them 24/7/365.

The artical says " It's such a homey place its easy to forget  that it's knowen worldwide for its state-of-art computer network that tracts each residents movements."

Excuse me but there may be some "movements" that I would not nessarly want tracted.

It goes on to say " with a residents approval, relitives can assess all that data through a website, learning where Mom spends her days. Whether she is losing weight or tossing  and turning at night.

Just what we need, little Johnny getting to know all about  grandpa ( and his movements)- who is miles and miles away, and whom he will never  ever see face to face.

One resident already stoped access to his daughter because she was constantely calling about pickey little things. Good for him.

Is it progress or Big brother or another type of President Bush's spying tactics?
