For 40 Days

by: jamryn

Tis the season of Lent. For the next 40 days + or -( does not include weekends or Sundays )  We venture on a Soul Searching mission of repentance and reflection. It is a time to take stock.

In reference to my last post - The Lords Prayer. This prayer was given as an excample. If you know of no other way to pray - use this.

I'd like to explore how  I- we - could personalise this excample and bring about a deeper relationship between - Father and I.

In prayer - the excample requests us to - ADDRESS GOD - SUBMIT TO HIM AND HIS WILL - TO ASK FOR OUR PHYSICAL NEEDS - TO ASK FOR FORGIVENESS - TO OFFER FORGIVENESS - TO ASK FOR HELP AGAINST TEMPTATION - TO PRESERVE US FROM EVIL.

In using this format - I ask - Dearest Father in Heaven, today I ask of you,to grant to me according to what you have - planed for my best interests - to preserve my life - my health - my mission ( your mission) to your glory. Guide me - walk with me even give me - if needed - a shove in the right direction toward finding the right doctors and medications - to live this life to your glory. I ask - again - and again - Dear Lord, your forgiveness for the frustrated anger that I project towards Tom. Lead me and guide me to be a more loving and helpful wife to him. Help me Dear Lord to be able to look past - and to forgive his moments of anger and frustrations. I'm aware that this world holds both good and evil. That we can not eliminate one with out the other. I pray Dear Jesus in your name that you will always light my path - so I will continue to see the diference

To you dear Bloging buddies - It has been said that where two or more are gatthered in prayer - praying for the same concern - that  it will be heard and granted.  Althow we may not know one another  - I ask  for your prayers for my quest for better health ( as I will be asking for you ) and that together we all  find what we are searching for in these next 40 days.

PEACE - Nadine

I especially like your interpetation of the lord\'s prayer. I think you must have alot of strength to participate in Lent. My best friend is Muslim and she has to participate in a fast called ramidan which occurs in November, I\'m not sure how similar it is to lent but I think it is along the same lines, do you also have to fast? she was not able to eat food or drink water between sunrise and sunset. Not something I would be able to do easily! Anyway I hope lent goes well for you, and even though I do not closely follow any particular religion, I do consider myself to be cristian more than anything else, so my prayers are with you. :)
