by: jamryn

Be a Leader......

Begin with prase and honest appreciation - call attention to mistakes indirectely - discuss your own mistakes first - ask questions instead of giving orders - allow others to save face - praise slightest improvement and others lavishly - give a fine reputation for others to live up to - use encouragement  freely to correct faults - make others happy about your suggestions

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I can not change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

Why'd the Chicken cross the road?

by: jamryn

OBVIOUSLY NOT to get a ticket.

Aparentely they give out tickets for livestock  getting on the road in Johnnesburg Ca.  In this case the chicken had to prove that he was a domesticated ( pet) chicken to get the ticket recinded.

Potato Chips

by: jamryn

(I got in a cleanning jag yesterday and found this. Thought you might enjoy it. A  pen-pal of mine sent it to me )

A little boy wanted to meet God. He knew it was a long trip to where God lived, so he packed his suitcase with a bag of potato chips and a six pack of rootbeer and started his journey.

When he had gone about three blocks, he met an old women. She was setting in the park, just staring at some pigeons.

The boy sat down next to her and opened  his suitcase. He was about to take a drink from his rootbeer when he noticed the the old lady looked hungry. So he offered her some chips. She gratefully accepted and smiled at him.

Her smile was so pertty that he wanted to see it again, so he offered her a rootbeer, again she smiled at him. The boy was delighted! They sat there all afternoon eating and smiling, but they never said a word.

As twilight approached, the boy realized how tired he was and he got up to leave. But before he had gone more than a few steps, he turned around, ran back to the old women, and gave her a hug. She gave him her biggest smile ever.

When the boy opened the door to his own house a short time later, his mother was surprised by the look of joy on his face. She asked him " What did you do today that made you so happy?" He replied " I had lunch with God" But before his mother could respond he added"You know what? She's got the most beautiful smile I've ever seen!"

Meanwhile, the old women, also radient with joy, returned to her home. Her son was stuned by the look of peace on her face and he asked. "Mother, what did you do today that made you so happy?"She replied " I ate potato chips in the park with God." She added, " you know, He's much younger than I expected."

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment or the smallest act of caring. All of us which have the potential to turn a life around.  People come into our lives for a reason.  Have lunch with God......bring chips.

Are we purposely  attempting to hamper or hurt - our selves, our health, our families or our country? If so......WHY?

Thinking more about the previous subject. I was wondering just WHY we don't feel good. Then I begin to watch a program on TV. ( Dateline) last night about husbands and wives ploting to kill one another.  One man even casually saying if his own children got in the way --- oh well its just a casualty of war. Where does it all stop?

I looked up the word hate in the dictionary and found.... an intense hostility and aversion usually deriving from fear - anger or sence of injury.  Or in other words....an extream degree or deep-seated ill will and repugnance toward  someone or thing.

What are we fearfull of?  Who or what has caused  that much injury to us? Is this really the healthiest way to retalliate? Have we returned to .......an eye for an eye  mentality?

Where does it all stop?  When we have so gouged out each others eyes that we all now live in a world of darkness? That we've all become blind? What is out there so terrable that we'd  rather not see?

Living healthy?

by: jamryn

Medicate or Meditate? Mind over matter?

Is there a healthier way to go. More and more you hear someone say " I don't feel  good", but how often do you hear that person say what there doing to  to achieve better health?

Soul_Search2's blog "Melting Point" congered up some interesting thoughts and ideas. Personaly I like the sun - the more the better. Although walking and standing are bothersome for me at this time, I'd rather soak up my quota of  vitamin D by spending time outside.

I haven't been feeling well - lately, but that's soon going to change. With the added finicial help - I've choosen a new docter and plan to start fresh - getting healthier.  In my oppinion there are several path ways to take to reaching this goal.  I don't have to choose only one or the other but can combine  2 - 3 or more.

As  Michael Castleman says in his book  NATURE'S CURES  No single school of healing has all the answers, but most schools offer reasonable approaches to at least some conditions.

I prefer to take a more active role in bettering my health, rather than blindly following some doctors orders. My goal will not be only seeking a cure or live with it. I will be seeking more ways to experence physical, mental and spirtual  wholeness.

Star Wars Moment........

When my youngest son ( 28) was about 7 we went to the theater to watch Star Wars.  Everyone was excited especialy him.  We were all sicence fiction fans and found these type of movies fasinating.  I guess Loren ( my son ) must have been extra tired that day. He promptly fell asleep soon after the beginning and woke up just before it ended. His comment was  " Wow - that was a realy short movie!"  The extra credit part is to be continued on Blog Log  http://www.blogigo.com/jamryn1

Human Condition?

by: jamryn

A  favorite song of mine says ....I just droped in to see what condition my condition is in.......

We hate laws. Laws seem so negative. We want laws to keep others in check, but we want to bend them for ourselves.  copyed from  - Disciple Bible Study

How true this statement can be.  Don't tell me what I can or can not do. Yet if you even touch me or a member of my familey - I'll sue.  Is that still the name of the game?  Get all you can and do on to others before they have a chance to do on to you? Is this what we are teaching our children?
