Keane? who would have thought?

I normally am not a fan of Keane, I've found most of their songs lukewarm.. not as lukewarm as Coldplay's but I heard one song, thought it was ok, then quickly realized that the rest of their songs were following Coldplay's do-anything-to-please-your-granny music. But there is one song by Keane that I just heard and rather like. It's sounds like something ripped off from Asia but it's catchy and nice. It's called Everybody's Changing.

I dunno, I thought I'd mention it. Generally, I like music where I feel there is a lot of emotion being exuded, a lot of passion, ranging from songs from Shania to Enrique ( yes I said Enrique), their songs and vocal range really have to convince me that they believe what they're saying. I think Coldplay would be a better band if they didn't emulate U2 so much and work so hard at reinventing themselves. As Mr. Yorke said once of songwriting " once you try, you're fucked!". Geniuses are born.. whatever Thom Yorke has that Chris Martin wants.. well.. he doesn't have! Not to mention his vocal range is really lacking. I think if he was louder and had a bigger range, ... er... and changed the style of their music completely...Coldplay wouldn't be so bad. But as of now, I think they are awful. I don't think the above is a diss.. just very constructive criticism.. They are too transparent in their ambition.. and it really isn't helping that he's saying he want's to top Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (FFS!) and Mozart!!!!!!! MOZART!?!?! *rolls eyes and they get stuck to the back of my head*

I'm watching Benny and Joon right now .. OMG I LOVE JOHNNY!!!!! from way back in the scissorhand days! and my little friends told me I was crazy.. psshh

So who is going to go watch Charlie and the Chocolate factory? I have yet to find a date for such the occasion. Mani is all the way in Europe so I think I'll ask my friends Robbie, Bri, Ivy and Amish to go.

OMG I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!! HOW CUTE IS JOHNNY DEPP!? saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaam!!!!

OMG i'm at the part where he's climbing the walls!!!!! EEEEEEEEEEEEEK! HE'S GOING TO START SWINGING SOOOOON!!! *swoons and faints*

I also wanted to say a belated Happy Independence Day to Americans... I have to say, although I am not a big fan of the Bush administration's undertakings and policies, I'm really really thankful and feel indebted to the American soldiers who are fighting over there in the mideast. I was watching CNN, there was a 5 mile road race by injured American soldiers, recounting how close they were to death and how they would, if they could, go back to fight. I also saw American soldiers playing basketball at a base in the mideast saying hi to their families ( I hope their families were watching CNN!!) and I just think about their families and gfs who must be bawling everyday and worrying about them all the time. And I don't know what is going through their minds I imagine they are very stressed and scared.. but they are so brave.. I think Canada has a lot to be thankful for. I hope they'll be safe.

Happy 4th of July!

tchockyyyyyyyyyyyyy
