Amnesty!

I just got my Amnesty tshirt that they promised me on TV!!!! It's really bright blue, my favourite shade and they said that they hope that I will wear it so that maybe more people will get involved. But there is a problem! They never asked me what size I was! This thing is huge! It goes down to halfway down my thighs ( and I'm 5" 6 and a half!)and the "short sleeves" go past my elbows considerably! It's totally pajama material but how can I go to bed with a sound conscience knowing I'm not doing my part to spread the word?

Also they gave me a post card to mail to His Excellency Issayas Afeweki.. even though I'd like to address him as Your Assholeness. Aster Yohannes has been detained at an unknown location and denied communication with anyone from the outside world. Her husband is a prisoner of conscience. He was head of security and intelligence in the Eritrean People's Liberation Front during the liberation struggle. He abd other government ministers was arrested on the grounds of being a "traitor" when he was peacefully calling for democratic reform.

It's known that several thousand of these prisoners of conscience are being held without charge or trial since 2001 and some are believed to be in underground cells or metal shipping containers!

Not to be imposing, and not to remind you that you basically won a lottery being born in a western society, etc etc. I figured we'd be more persuasive collectively. Call for the immediate release of Aster Yohannes and her husband Petros Soloman and that she be given necessary medical care ( she has heart problems and asthma :(

His Excellency Isssayas Afewerki
president of the state of Eritrea
Office of the President
PO BOX 257, Asmara, Eritrea

I really hope some of you will write this letter. I had exactly 3 49 cent stamps in my wallet! (COINCEDENCE?!~!?) to be able to mail this out.

alright time for beds~
