Dear Mr Patterson

False imprisonment by BT

For 3 months I have tried to ditch BT as my Broadband supplier. I still have a "BT marker" on my phone line but these markers are not removed until 26th of the month, I do not trust them to remove it this month either.

I enclose a list of BT staff contacted, all to no avail, UNLESS I wish to come back to BT, in which case they will reconnect me NOW.

  • BT overcharged me 1 year ago for a modem, that was advertised as free.
  • Now they refuse to disconnect me.
  • I have a phone bill for £100 this month, as I try to persuade BT to disconnect my marker.

This British Icon is in the hands of the greedy crooks who charged a back-hander for a phone connection in the 1970’s; it’s the same line.

Yours faithfully

K Tanner

The above BT staff were contacted to ask that my BT broadband be disconnected, such that I could connect with Homecall Broadband, two simultaneous broadband suppliers are not allowed, this list is increased each day.

Your offer that I may call 150 to discuss this further was taken up, but is not available to me, as I am now a Homecall customer.

I have not received my final bill and believe I am owed a substantial sum, why is this? I have been disconnected from BT for 3 months.

I have remained on your 0870 pay phone lines when your staff have assured me that I am free to connect elsewhere, they have consistently lied to me.

Your systems do not work, if I could open another line I would, but I have a business on this line. If there is anyone competent there please contact me so that all lingering connections are dismantled.
