Uncharted 2: Among Thieves (PS3): You too can be Nate Drake

by: MrGames   Keywords: Uncharted, Among, Thieves, PS3

Uncharted: Among Thieves 2 is a fantastic sequel exclusive to PS3. The graphics are vividly realistic. It has a real cinematic feel to it. The action sequences of the character driven story are actually very interesting, full of adventure, and it's like being part of game and a film all rolled into one. Naughty Dog, certainly knew what they were doing with this and the improvements like new tactics for fire fights, better stealth and the fact that Drake can carry propane tanks and riot shields are all welcome additions.

For online battles (which I love!) there are six options for the multi-player menu, Matchmaking (for a quick match), Custom (game type, map and other variations), Cinema (follow a character in motion!), Profile (manage preferred character and boosters), Party Up (access other user profiles) and Store (an In-Game store). There are also several game types to choose from Deathmatch, Elimination, Plunder, Turf War, King of the Hill, Chain Reaction, Survival, Gold Rush, Machinima, Co-Op. This is a huge game, SO worth the money, and such fun to play. I know it all seems too good to be true, but believe me, it is! Nate is pretty cool too. If only he was real! He could decipher my mysteries any day..

Need For speed SHIFT

Unlike Grid and the GT games this is an arcade type driving game looks pretty, easy to play and progress through the levels, but there are a few glitches with a few cars which when following the designated race line just bounce and then wont stop bouncing? overall this game looks really sweet the choice of cars you get to drive are second to nothing else,(Zonda Veyron Mclaren Lamborghini etc no Ferrari) the cars track and scenery detail is spot on! good fun arcade style racer which anyone can jump on without any need for qualifying etc and race away. Worth renting for a week by which time you will complete most of and the online races are ok as with all online racers on ps3 you will get 5 year olds who just want to ram you if you play grid you`ll know what i mean! But with NFS Shift your ebcouraged to ram and tip drivers out then you get points for prescision or agression all good fun!

Very Fun dragon age origins (pc)

by: MrGames   Keywords: dragon, age, origins, pc

It`s beautiful cinematic storytelling experience hampered by board game D&D origins - and that seems to be the consensus of magazine reviews.I prefer games where you`re the player rather than just the director moving pieces about (beat-em-up fans despair!) but this game offers so much in the way of story and wanting-to-see-what`s-round-the-next-corner that it overcomes all this. The character generation is superb with realistic looking configurable people, and the choice of classes and races each with their own story lines to explore-I think the rogue is probably the best choice because there are more skills a player can have real control over, whilst the mage may be the worst because characters seem to do their own thing to a certain extent in combat and hitting something with a sword is easier to fathom than conjuring a force shield. The episodic nature of the game means that there are a variety of different landscapes-castles,camps,wilderness and the richness of the world entices you to progress further. The camera can be controlled to give anything from an over the shoulder view to a wide field overhead view from any angle so pieces can be moved to different points as well as being controlled by the WASZ movement keys of an FPS (Why can`t you jump though?!).It does everything but the 1st person perspective and is probably too faithful to its D&D origins-This and a feeling of having more control over moves in fights would`ve made it even better (6 stars?).

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (ps3): Lives Up To Expectations

"The most anticipated game of the decade". Probably the fastest selling ever. Modern Warfare 2 has unimaginable levels of expectation, and with good reason; Infinity Ward has raised the bar once again for 1st person shooters.
Campaign mode picks up 5 years after the original, with play switching between Task Force 141 (former SAS members) and the Army Rangers. Set pieces have always been Call of Duty's specialty, the majority of which are jaw dropping. When first loading the game, a warning appears, stating one level has content many will find disturbing! The option is even there to skip it entirely. Without spoiling it, nothing this brutal has actually been playable before. Just wait until the Daily Mail hears about it. Levels set in Afghanistan also prove Infinity Ward are pulling no punches. Locations have more variety than the original; a blizzard whipped military base, Rio slums, and a Russian Gulag are a few standouts. Gameplay is virtually identical to COD 4, but thankfully those German Shepherds aren't quite so lethal. Warzones are more chaotic, and grander in scale; the mission 'Wolverines!' is a fantastic homage to the movie Red Dawn. Vehicle sections are included; a snowmobile chase is particularly outstanding. A breach element has been worked into play, which is a subtle addition. Placing C4 on a door triggers slow motion upon entering.

Special Ops mode is a substantial new feature, which can be played alone, co-operatively or online. Various stages from single player feature, and objectives vary wildly. One example is to defeat a number of enemies whilst minimising civilian casualties. 69 stars can be earned, which unlock additional levels and extras. They mostly last a few minutes, which can make it extremely addictive.
Finally, multiplayer looks like it will take over the world again. New modes include a 3rd person cage match, unlockable around level 70. It feels deeper than its predecessor, which has dominated online gaming for 2 solid years. This will almost certainly do the same.

Great game and a great update: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (Xbox360)

I have played COD3 which I thought was good (especially the medic whereby you could heal people), COD4 which improved the graphics, story line and online gameplay, and now this. This is an improvement over COD4 as the graphics appear sharper and more realistic. There are more scenery objects to take cover behind and the AI seems to have been tweaked. At the moment I am about half way through the single player campaign and have also played some hours on the multiplayer (xbox live).

The single player campaign has a good story mode, not brilliant, but it is enjoyable playing as the characters. There appears to be a lot more enemy soldiers on the screen at the same time than previous versions I have played, and you have to keep an eye on the ammo you have as you can tend to stay put firing and taking them down, rather than pushing forward. At times in certain chapters, things can get a little confusing, e.g. going through the side streets you were being fired at from the front, sides, behind cars, from the rooftops and from planks between rooftops. At times I id not know where I was being attacked from and ended up dead al lot of the time. But persevere, and you will find it rewarding that you completed the level.

In multiplayer there are all new weapons to get accustomed to and totally new maps. The first time online is a little confusing as you do not know where you are, but after several goes, you get to know where you are and where to go. As with Modern Warfare 1, as you play online you get experience points, which enable you to get a higher rank as you progress. This in turn unlocks new weapons, weapon attachments, perks and challenges. This is brilliant as it does keep you going back to play online to get all the perks/weapons. The only downside is that the noisy pesky nuisance kids are all playing this at the moment, and you may get some abuse if you are not up to their standard or if you kick the c**p out of them. Just mute for a better online gaming experience.

Overall, a great game and seeing as the last one got me playing for days/weeks/months, overall the value for money in playing is amazing. A great buy and well worth the money.

Outstanding Game: Assassins Creed II {ps3}

Ok to begin this is the first assassins creed but it is bigger and better in just about everyway, the ground rules are essentially the same as the first but little tweaks just make it that much better. To begin, I will discuss the gameplay. This is much more open and free than in the first assassins creed, in the first it was gather information in a very limited number of ways then kill somebody, this time it is much more open with an increased number of mission types. The stealth mechanics are very clever allowing you to manipulate crowds for example by throwing money to move the crowd or by shoving people in it. The free running is much the same but I can't complain as I thought it was brilliant in the first game. The combat system is much the same with a few little added touches e.g. stealing enemy weapons to use against them. There is also the addition of money which was missing from the first game, this enables you to purchase all kinds of weapons and armours, just adds another nice little touch. One of the best additions is the addition of the ability to swim, which as anyone who played the first one knows that when free running drowning really ruins the feel. Graphically its better than the first which I find surprising as assassins creed 1 was very good graphically, but this just steps it up further making the game again more to enjoy. Although great graphics comes at a price apparently with drops in the framerates when there is a lot happening on the screen at that moment. There is the addition of trophies and they aren't for annoying things like finding 100's of flags they are just for things that could actually happen in gameplay eg. Spend X amount of money here. The story is longer than the original also taking me around 15 hours to complete the main quests and is better with some very nice cut-scenes driving then game along.
Overall I would definitely recommend it to anybody because the numerous little improvements add up to a massive jump in quality and the frame rate issues are not a cause for concern when the rest is this good.

Assassins Creed II {ps3}: Even better than the las

Assassins Creed II {ps3}

Some people are saying that both these games lacked a plot, well clearly it was a lack of explosions and car chases that bored their simple minds but for people who have brain you will appreciate the twists within the worlds history, that creates an intriguing story that i have so far enjoyed playing. Graphics are excellent as they always have been, gameplay is smooth and easy and the fight sequences are a great improvement on its sibling. Overall this game is well worth the buy, but not for feeble minds who just want explosions and gunfire.

Great Wii Games :New Super Mario Brothers (Wii)

New Super Mario Brothers (Wii)

If you collect all the star coins (3 in each sub-world), then you can unlock something special, don't ask me what that is, as I have yet to achieve this. Ath the moment I have collected all but 2 of the star coins in the first world.

If you are a Mario fanboy or girl I would recommend this title, you wont be dissapointed, and you wont find it too easy or too hard either. For less experienced players I would only recommend this game if you can team up with friends and family who can give you help along your adventure in the mushroom kingdom.

You can't save the game at any point you want to, only after completing and defeating and end of level boss, do you get the option of saving, but this is one of a very few negatives about this game.

The music score is very catchy, and some koopalings even dance to the tune in the game! There are all the usual sound effects in Mario, and there are some very familiar sounds from the original Mario, namely when Mario has fire ability you can hear the sound of him spitting fire (just like the NES version).

Overall, I have given this game 4/5, as some younger gamers used to 3D mario adventures like Mario 64 and Galaxy may find this old fashioned. But I have given it 5/5 for sheer fun, as all Mario fans will know.

If you still aren't convinced to get this game, then I would recommend waiting a few months for the price to come down. A second hand copy would be worth the wait, if you are still unsure whether to purchase at the moment.

Amazing: New Super Mario Brothers (Wii)

by: MrGames   Keywords: New, Super, Mario, Brother

New Super Mario Brothers (Wii)

This game is blatantly aimed at old skool gamers - this game starts off fairly easy but expect the challenge to increase throughout the game! It never gets frustrating and due it's simple design never feels unfair. No glitches, unfair deaths or alike here... it's all your own doing!

While this game looks superb, it doesn't push the hardware to the max. While some people may frown upon this, I think it is refreshing that this game revolves around gameplay rather than graphics. A lot of modern games are certainly guilty of this. Having said that, this game does look very nicely presented - and Nintendo have pushed the graphics as far as a game of this stature will allow.

Finishing note - I haven't felt this inclined to play through a game for a long time. Quite often I can only play a game for a short while before I want a break - this game makes me want to come back for more and I'm having to prevent myself from playing it in order to be more constructive with my time! All I have to say is that if you're an old skool game fan, a Mario fan or just want something more traditional and less complex (but certainly no less deeper) look no further than this game!

Fifa 10 is a amazing game

by: MrGames   Keywords: FIFA, 10

A Kid's Review
Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
it is a big inprovement over fifa 09 and is more real istic.
it is miles better than pes 10.
so dont spend your money on pes 10 spend it on fifa 10.

This game is better than fifa 09 more features, better graphics and more players abut there are some bad things about it which drag the rating down for me

The commenators are the same no new anouncing other than naming a few more players
also when you cross a ball in or do a corner kick it goes really slow during gameplay which is quite annoying

but overall it is a improvement to fifa 09 but not much better in my opinion
