Counter Strike Source better FPS

Until recently I used to dread playing the map de_chateau in cs:s, which had been one of my favourites in the old 1.6 arena.

Every time someone threw a grenade at the center cracked wall area I would get some serious lag-g-g-g.

I decided I would go in search of some answers, so I teamed up with google and found a few....

Firstly some console tweaking

sv_robust_explosions 0
THis one reduses the effect of explosions, which was a major source of lag on de_chateau

cl_showsplashes 0
THis one takes away the splash effect from running in water and shooting the water.

and now for some source engine tweaking which can be done in the steam client. This assumes that you double clicking the game from steam and not a desktop shortcut.

Step 1. Right click the counter strike source game and select properties

Step 2. click on the set launch options button.

Step 3. Type -heapsize 1024000

Step 4. Click OK

  What...

Welcome to my Blogg Page

I created this blogg page so I could share with people my CS:S scripts
and useful info, basically stuff that other people have written to help
us al out.

I used to place links on forums to places I'd visited and info that
related to the particular post. I figured there had to be a better way,
so why not bloog everything together and just post up the single blogg
entry each time.

Let me know what you think....
