What is stress?

Seal(1997) in “What is stress?” says stress is an emotional or physical reaction to demanding events or stimuli. There are many stressors, including disasters, the loss of a job and others. Hans Seyle, who is physiologist from Canada, has proposed that both humans and other animals react to any stressor in three stages, which are called by the general adaptation syndrome. There are three levels that are the alarm reaction, resistance, and exhaustion. The alarm reaction is physical metal response and resistance is adapting or escaping, and exhaustion is the organism breakdown or collapse. He did experiments about the general adaptation syndrome between rats and humans. As a result, the rats couldn’t predict about stress from problems, but humans could predict about stress. However, human could not perfect solve about stress because human’s stress reactions are various; stressors can change from person to person.

Fuel up.

Eating regular meals (this means no skipping dinner) and taking time to enjoy them (nope, eating in the car on the way to practice doesn't count) will make you feel better too.

Image of bananas and orange juiceMake sure to fuel up with fruits, vegetables, proteins (peanut butter, a chicken sandwich, or a tuna salad) and grains (wheat bread, pasta, or some crackers) — these will give you the power you need to make it through those hectic days.

Drawing of a soda can Don't be fooled by the jolt of energy you get from sodas and sugary snacks — this only lasts a short time, and once it wears off, you may feel sluggish and more tired than usual. For that extra boost of energy to sail through history notes, math class, and after school activities, grab a banana, some string cheese, or a granola bar for some power-packed energy!

Some say that laughter is the best medicine — well, in many cases, it is! Did you know that it takes 15 facial muscles to laugh? Lots of laughin' can make you feel good — and, that good feeling can stay with you even after the laughter stops. So, head off stress with regular doses of laughter by watching a funny movie or cartoons, reading a joke book (you may even learn some new jokes), or even make up your own riddles…laughter can make you feel like a new person!

Everyone has those days when they do something really silly or stupid — instead of getting upset with yourself, laugh out loud! No one's perfect! Life should be about having fun. So, lighten up!

Being with people you like is always a good way to ditch your stress. Get a group together to go to the movies, shoot some hoops, or play a board game — or just hang out and talk. Friends can help you work through your problems and let you see the brighter side of things.

Spill to someone you trust.
Instead of keeping your feelings bottled up inside, talk to someone you trust or respect about what's bothering you. It could be a friend, a parent, someone in your family, or a teacher. Talking out your problems and seeing them from a different view might help you figure out ways to deal with them. Just remember, you don't have to go it alone!

Take time to chill.
Pick a comfy spot to sit and read, daydream, or even take a snooze. Listen to your favorite music. Work on a relaxing project like putting together a puzzle or making jewelry.

Stress can sometimes make you feel like a tight rubber band — stretched to the limit! If this happens, take a few deep breaths to help yourself unwind. If you're in the middle of an impossible homework problem, take a break! Finding time to relax after (and sometimes during) a hectic day or week can make all the difference.

Catch some zzzzz...
ClockFatigue is a best friend to stress. When you don't get enough sleep, it's hard to deal — you may feel tired, cranky, or you may have trouble thinking clearly. When you're overtired, a problem may seem much bigger than it actually is. You may have a hard time doing a school assignment that usually seems easy, you don't do your best in sports or any physical activity, or you may have an argument with your friends over something really stupid.

Sleep is a big deal! Getting the right amount of sleep is especially important for kids your age. Because your body (and mind) is changing and developing, it requires more sleep to re-charge for the next day. So don't resist, hit the hay!

Keep a journal.
JournalIf you're having one of those crazy days when nothing goes right, it's a good idea to write things down in a journal to get it off of your chest — like how you feel, what's going on in your life, and things you'd like to accomplish. You could even write down what you do when you're faced with a stressful situation, and then look back and think about how you handled it later. So, find a quiet spot, grab a notebook and pen, and start writing!

Get it together.
Boy DreamingToo much to do but not enough time? Forgot your homework? Feeling overwhelmed or discombobulated? Being unprepared for school, practice, or other activities can make for a very stressful day!

Getting everything done can be a challenge, but all you have to do is plan a little and get organized.

Lend a hand.
Get involved in an activity that helps others. It's almost impossible to feel stressed out when you're helping someone else. It's also a great way to find out about yourself and the special qualities you never knew you had! Signing up for a service project is a good idea, but helping others is as easy as saying hello, holding a door, or volunteering to keep a neighbor's pet. If you want to get involved in a more organized volunteer program, try working at a local recreation center, or helping with an after school program. The feeling you will get from helping others is greater than you can imagine!


Most importantly, don't sweat the small stuff! Try to pick a few really important things and let the rest slide — getting worked up over every little thing will only increase your stress. So, toughen up and don't let stressful situations get to you! Remember, you're not alone — everyone has stresses in their lives...it's up to you to choose how to deal with them.

FUN AND GAMES?

 

In the article “Fun and games,” from Troubledwith, by Steven Isaac, Today’s kids, and even some adults are wildly excited about gaming. A large number of investigate show that playing violent video games can increase aggressive thoughts, feelings and behavior. As the graphics of video games in general get more realistic, the danger of them eliciting aggression and insensibility in the customer would be greater. Accordingly, Brazil and Canada have taken steps to restrict some of the violent game; also the US made a grade, which is deliberation provision about video games. However, you do not believe a label at all, and you had better play with your children. So, I think that video games affect our children.

First, your children are confused by video games because children confuse fantasy with reality. For example, if your kids become addicted by violent games, they can kill someone because they can use guns on video games. Then, it is possible that your kids, who do not have ability of division, could kill person in the real world. In fact, most young criminals imitated crime from violent video games. For example, the Elephant, which is the US movie, treats about two high school students criminal. This story is a violent incident rocks the students and faculty at a high school in Portland, Oregon.

Second, your kids can speedily or recklessly drive a sports car on a video game. In fact, when I played video games about racing, I had to go to school late. So, after quickly finished the game, I directly drove my car. But I couldn’t control myself because I had an impulse about reckless driving. After that I never played a video game about racing. Therefore, it is very dangerous to your children. When your kids, who like racing games, become adults, they could become reckless drivers.

Third, might not have enough family time. If your kids have a lot of free time, they could a joystick again and again. If you really love your kids, your responsibility is to play with them. Then, your kids can be healthy, and you and your children are more familiar with each other. Actually, most children, who are addicted by video games, cannot play with their parents because their parents are so busy everyday.

In conclusion, video games might your children harmful minds. So, you must tell your children about the video game’s injuriousness, and you have to encourage your kids to play more sports. Then your children could a healthier lifestyle. I hope that all children grow up healthier, and the violent video game does not exist in the world.

How has the Internet influenced your home country?

These days, the Internet is important in our life. The Internet gives us convenience, usefulness, and anything. I think that the Internet is the most importance exists in Korea because almost every person uses the Internet when they work at office, or look for some information. Now, I am going to explain about the Internet life of Korean. First, almost Koreans use the Internet when they looked for some information. The Internet has many strong points. It is possible that the Internet use anywhere, anytime, anyone. For example, if they need information about story of Afghanistan, they can know about it, although they do not go Afghanistan. Another one, although they look for some data about a public institution on Sunday, they can find it. Second, when almost Korean wants to talk to another people who live far away from here, they used the Internet. The Internet has many functions. One of many functions is chatting program. The chatting program is possible that people is possible that people talk to foreigner. One of the programs in computer is the chatting program, which is network program. If you want to the chatting program, you have to give download setup file about chatting program. After you install setup file, and then you can run chatting program. Third, in Korea, sometimes university students used the Internet when they studied in a class. For example, when university students wrote some reports, and when they sent their professor a question about an assignment, they used an e-mail or weblog. Also, if class is cancel, they can study in the Internet. Another example, Korean universities have a cyber class. It is possible that can study their major in their house. In conclusion, the Internet occupies a part of life, and it must exist in the world include Korea because the Internet gives us anything. However, sometimes we spent a lot of time the Internet, so it gives us harmful our healthy. Do not forget that your health is more important than the Internet. by eric

To my...

당신과 시작할때 난 이미 알고 있었어요. 순탄치 않을 것이라는것을.
그래도 5년동안 그 누구도 깊이 좋아하려 하지 않고,
그래도 5년동안 그 누구도 깊이 만나보려 하지 않았음에도 불구하고,
내가 당신을 만난것은, 당신은 나에게 특별했으니까요.
물론 우리가 만난기간은 그리 오래는 아니였어요. 하지만 그 기간이 사랑의 정도를 판별하는 것은 어리석은 짓이에요.
처음으로 결혼이라는 일생에서 제일 중요한 선택을 해보았고,
처음으로 굳은 결심을 했었어요. 정말 열심히 사랑해보자.
하지만 지금, 우리는 남이 되었어요. 철없던 제가 사랑 하나만 보고 달려왔던 것이였죠.
결혼이라는게 소꿉장난으로 생각한건 아니였지만, 혼자만으로 할 수 있는것이 아니였다라는 것을 느꼈죠.
저는 할 수 있을꺼라고 생각했었어요. 하지만 그게 아니였다라는것을 느꼈어요.
그렇게 나는 어른이 되어가나봐요. 사회가 정해놓은 틀안에 점점 익숙해져 가는건가봐요.
그렇게 힘들어 할 줄 몰랐어요. 그리고 그렇게 힘든 줄 몰랐어요.
당신은 내가 지금 힘든게 뭔지 알아요?
내가 어떤 마음가짐을 가져도 결국은 내가 원치 않는 길로 접어든다는게 힘들어요.
그리고 당신도 힘들어하고 있다는 사실이 날 더 힘들게 만들어요.
여기서 미국인 친구들에게 내얘길 해주며 위로받으려 했지만, 오히려 그 친구들은 이해를 하지 못했어요.
왜 헤어지는지 모르겠데요. 저도 솔직히 모르겠어요. 하지만 그냥 누군가에게 끌려가듯이 그 길을 걷고 있네요.
이제는 아무런 힘이 없어요. 버텨낼 힘이 남아있지 않아요.
그리고 내가 원치 않는 길을 걸으면서도 난 지금 그 길에서 더 좋은길을 찾아내려 애쓰고 있어요.
참 한심스럽죠? 다시 돌아가면 될것을. 하지만 지금은 그 길을 걷는게 나을꺼라는 생각이 점점 커지네요.

BIOGRAPHY

True to the image of his work, Beksinski is a secluded man.
He does not appear in public, and does not exhibit his paintings.
When museums of collectors exhibit them his does not show up.
He works on his paintings twelve hours a day
against a background of classical music.
They are always painted on hardboard, signed on the back, and they bear no titles.

He was born on February 24th 1929 in Sanok, a small town near the
south-east border of Poland. His father was a surveyor,
his grandfather a building contractor, and his great-grandfather Mathieu,
an insurgent of 1863, was the founder of a wagon factory.
Under the German Occupation Beksinski continued his
studies at a secondary level, first in a school of commerce,
then in a clandestine highschool.
in 1947, after the liberation, he entered the Faculty of Architecture in the
Mines and Steelworks Academy in Cracow under pressure from his father.
In 1951 he married Miss Sophie Stankiewicz,
and in 1952 he obtained his degree in architecture.
Due to the obligation of work which was at that time imposed on young graduates,
he started working in a State building enterprise
where he supervised the building lots.

Although he had been drawing since his early childhood, he applied
himself to it seriously in 1953. He also concentrated on
painting, photography and sculpture, and thus prepared his way
out of a profession which he disliked.

In 1958 his only child, Thomas, was born.

In the same year his first exhibition of plastic works, and
especially abstract relief, was held in Poznan. At that time
he was still a member of the Union of Polish Artist-
Photographers and he took part in numerous exhibitions of
photography in Poland and abroad.

In 1960 he abandoned photography and in his plastic works broke
away from the avant-garde. This break was felt by some as an
actor treason, since his early creation had aroused much hope
among the partisans of abstract art. But is was also this step
towards fantasy expressionism, noted during the exhibition of
1972 organized by Mr. and Mrs. Bogucki in the "Contemporary"
gallery in Warsaw, that was to make him known to a wider
public. The polemic aroused by his painting reached its climax
in 1975 when after a poll organised by art critics he was
declared "the best painter in the thirty years of the People's
Republic of Poland" thanks to the votes of certain
participants who gave him almost all their points, while
others refused to give him even one...

In 1977 he left Sanok and moved to Warsaw only to isolate himself
from the world even more radically because of the
inconvenience arising from the celebrity he now had in his
home town. When he moved into the Polish capital he hoped to
mingle in the anonymous crowds of a big metropolis. Despite
the curiousity he arouses, he refuses to take part in any
manifestations and accepts neither awards nor medals. He has
practically ceased to exhibit, receives only one or two
journalists a year, when he grants them an interview which
does not touch upon current events.

A charismatic personality and a man with a profound spirit,
Beksinski has never left Poland, doesn't speak any foreign
language and has never been a member of any ideological group;
he hates and despises politics.

Is it better to think of it as a fate? Im not sure but i must do it because we never get married.Im so sad.
I can't breath. I really miss you. I hate this situation.
Sometimes, I think that "can we get married?" because, my parent said, we want you to see when they will go back Korea next year.
But i can't say to you because you must get married until next year.
you know, I can't get married until next year.
So, I must leave from you. Finally, I want you to remember that I loved you for the first time.
Also, I really want you to meet nice guy is better than me.
P.S - I regrettabled about your action. Just little bit. But, I can't it.
Of corse, I tried to hard smiled, smiled, and smiled again. But now.. I can't anymore... Im really sorry. really...
