IINTELLIGENT DESIGN

In the continuing debate about religion V science, is seems to me to come down to a very simple question.
Did God make man, or did man make God?
We all have our beliefs, no matter how deeply held, but belief is not knowledge, and none of us can possibly know for sure. Knowledge can be proven, belief cannot. Neither science nor religion can prove their case, though science does provide a huge amount of evidence, while the Church would merely classify me as an inadequate doubting Thomas.
