Even before losing the Olympic vote. President Chirac commented that the only thing the British have given France was mad cow disease. He chose to forget the liberty and freedom we restored to his country. He further commented that the only food worse than British food is that of Finland.
Finland had 2 delegates who voted on the Olympic Committee, and had they voted differently, Paris would have won. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot!
To the hallowed names of Nelson and Wellington, let us now add the name of Blair. Such great names as these headed a strong and able team. Not only Nelson added a personal touch to ensure a just result.
It was a fair fight, and we won. Congratulations to the whole team, all of whom played their part brilliantly. If the French are unhappy with it, let them eat haggis.
