35 summers

The way I figure it is that you have an indeterminate time to sleep and be dead. But when you hit 30 something and you realise 35 summers till it all goes south, well then it hits home. 35 summers. You grow and hate school, work some, learn a few lessons, work a bit harder. You get hurt a lot, you love a lot. Maybe you end up with someone you don't care to strangle more than you'd care to. Have a few kids, watch a few sunsets. Go on holiday, and hit a few spots. If you're lucky you got to go on holiday while you were still young enough to be stupid. Tan too much, drink too much, eat too little. Meet someone perfect for 3 days. Your bones creak, and you forget most of what you've learnt. People go more often than they come. Things take a bit longer. And just when you get ready to sit down with a good book and enjoy the view. BANG. 35 summers later and your heart goes boom. Dance today. It's all you've got.
