Energy Saving

I think that the future will solve the problems with energy consumption, as technology becomes more organic, the 'battery' of life itself will power these kinds of things.  Low emmissions due to low loss of heat and noise etc... all the things it seems big business is desperarte to thwart until the bitter end.

Inasmuch as a plant uses the sun for photosynthesis, why can't a bridge use solar energy to repair and monitor itself, particle by particle.

The integration of technology

I read a great article in Wallpaper* today, about a book that's actually a radio but operates like a book and has no visible signs that it's anything but a book.

I like that idea, it's like the idea of a wearable TV, the concept of air - we breathe it and need it but don't notice it. For me development means integration, to the point where we don't notice it, where computers are not towers with boxes, in fact the notion of computer disappears completely as the visible signs of them disappear.  If my towel tells me i need to rehydrate, cool, I don't think of my towel as a computer that dries stuff.

Of course it's a little scary to us, to rely on 'unseen things' to go about our daily tasks, but that's progress.  I'm thinking of houses wih no doors, you just walk into the 'skin' it repairs itself. I'm thinking the future is a place where nothing breaks, everything is organic, where clever metals or plastics build themselves, turn on and off to create different colours, luminescances etc etc. Rigid or soft etc etc.

Cool stuff.

Somethings go right, sometimes

Somethings go right, sometimes

It’s the way that we feel
When we feel abused
When we feel unused
When it’s all black

Some things go right, sometimes

Sometimes I’m so up
So happy it hurts
When no one feels that way
That you do
When you feel

Some things, goes right, sometimes
Some things, goes right, sometimes

It’s the way that you feel
When everything is real
When your friends are there
When the sun comes down

Some things go right, sometimes

It’s the that you walk
The way that you talk
When the feeling in you
Hits the ground and there’s no way to turn around

Somethings go right, sometimes
I need to know (that)
Somethings go right, sometimes

Whenever I care to be caring
Whenever I am there to be their understanding
I feel sometimes they’re lost in their dreams

Somethings go right some times

On yeah some things go right some times

What if

I was thinking today about a little game, a trick really, something to play with friends.

It goes like this:  Get together with a great friend and plan an argument.  A nice big one, with loads of abuse and the end of a friendship type drama.  Now select a stage and act it out in front of your other friends.

Ha ha.  Now the fun begins the next day.  You go to your friends and ask them their advice.  So does your nemesis.  Each day or week exchange notes with each other about what the other people said.  At the end of the game, get everyone together and tell them.  It's so funny.  Well is it?  Do you find it a bit dangerous - to find out what your friends really think about you?  What do you really think about them.

Not so much fun anymore is it?  Or is it.  Could you play this game?  Would it end in tears?  I hope your friends are better than that, I imagine some of them are not.
