Fate Potential

Mood: Glad I'm not a CD.
Listening to: a bad radio commercial for insurance

I always have a box of blank CDs and DVDs next to my computer.  On most days I use 2 or 3 or more for various things.

I could burn artwork for printers, a presentation, backup work or make an audi CD.

The thing is, sitting in their little boxes, these disks have huge potential.  What fate awaits them and where is their future?

Unfortunately most times their fate is as follows:
Open the plastic wrapper, burn a piece of artwork, printer downloads art, throws out the disk which ends up in a landfill 2 days later.

On occasion the disk will be used to backup work.  It gets its own new title cover and sits snuggly in a drawer for years, protected by aircon from extreme temperatures, dry, safe, away from light.  This disk will be used over and over again to retrieve various bits of artwork.

My point?  My point is sometimes, fate plays a hand in your future that you have no part in.  It's a random event, an event effected from outside your control that can change your life forever and the course of all future events.

I know which disk I would rather be - how about you?
