kuno in asian cinema: films movie in kazakhstan

A lot has been talked about, around the world of these new talents who have arrived in Hollywood, one of them being Kuno Becker. A young mexican actor who little by little has been winning territory in international cinema.

Kuno is found filming a new movie in the faraway region of Kazakhstan, in Asia, a project of the producer Ivan Passer. Kuno has the starring role.

"Its an independent film, which to my understanding was an idea from the government of that country, that was given to the director, to make known to the world the story of Kazakhstan, the migration of its tribes and the culture they have", says Kuno.

Kuno divides his time between Mexico and the U.S. , meanwhile the bloody winter interrupted the filming of the movie. Nevertheless, they will back in Asia in May of the present year, to conclude the filming that began since summer 2003.

Its a film of epic proportions,  in which actor Jason Scott Lee will be participating in too.

For Kuno, this signifies adventure, "because before the offer, I didn't even know much about kazakhstan".

Meanwhile, Kuno anxiously awaits the release of Imagining Argentina, the movie in which he shared starring credits with Emma Thompson and Antonio Banderas.

Completely spoken  in english, a film that  approaches the subject of the argentine dictatorship, the consequence of the disappeareds.

Of that filming, Kuno brought with him only great experiences.

"Emma Thompson represented something huge for me, you know, the winner of an oscar and all that". Kuno expresses, "and at the end she turned out to be the most down to earth lady in the world. She tried speaking in spanish with everybody although she was having trouble".

The situation with Antonio Banderas was similar, since the protagonist of "Desperado" always showed himself willing to rehearse with Kuno, as many times as necessary.  Besides making a good friendship, and getting along very well in the set of Imagining Argentina.

The release of "Imagining Argentina" is programmed for release between 2004-2005.

After the offers he has had to star in other films, to just think that the ex protagonist of the mexican soap opera "First Love 1000 Miles Per Hour" [Primer Amor A 1000 X Hora] will not be working in his country anymore. Kuno does not in any way agree. "I would like to do things in Mexico, in films, but right now I haven't had the time. But, of course, what I'm always looking for are great movie roles", he concluded.
