Mexican actor Kuno Becker affirmed that he will not be acting in tv for right now, because his priority right now is his film career, genre in which he will not let go of all the opportunities that are presented to him. In the interview the protagonist of "Lucia, Lucia" assured us that he will be very selective with the projects that are offered to him, because his objective is to consolidate himself as an actor in films.
"Being able to act alongside actors like Cecilia Roth and Carlos Alvarez is a great satisfaction for me, because I never imagined that the doors to hollywoid would open for me and that in such short time I could do quality movies," he assured.
Kuno Becker who became know in television and participated in very popular soap operas like Dreamers (SoƱadoras), expressed that he has loved film making and that proof of his work will be demonstrated when his newest film is released in theaters nation wide, his recent film Imagining Argenting, where he will star alongside the britantic actress Emma Thompson and spanish actor Antonio Banderas.
"I'm just barely trying to understand films and obviously making myself responsible in my career, besides making the greatest effort possible so the public will like it." he said.
I don't want to believe that there is a division between actores in tv or films, although they are two different mediums. "One has to focus on the fact that actors exist, although I still have more to learn and the public will have to judge my work."
"I'm interested in films becauses I try to make characters drastically different to the ones I interpreted in television".
Kuno whom insisted on not coming back to the small screen until he earned a place in film making, mentioned that he has some projects to work on, although he refused to reveal them because he said that if he mentioned anything about it, those projects might not happen.
Kuno trusts that his internationalization will come naturally and assured us that he will not do anything to force his entrance in other films.
"It doesn't interest me to center myself in doing films in Hollywood or Spain, I want to be open for where ever there are great characters. If the next film is in North Africa, than I'll be happy to do it." he said.
"I don't want to do anything fast, I was offered two great stories in mexican cinema, but I didn't accept them for diverse reasons.
I learned to say no, to choose my projects wisely and be more selective, because the objective is not getting there but being there always." said Kuno. Although the actor accepted that he already has a representative (agent) in Los Angeles, Ca, who is in charge of proposing various movie projects to Kuno.
Kuno told us that his second film, Imagining Argentina, could possibly be considered for the Cannes Festival, France, because the producers are looking for that opportunity.
"Its a a film of a more propositive cut, on political denunciation and contains much of the Argentine process," he commented.
"What I liked best about this project was the simplicity of the story and that I had a lot to learn from actors like Antonio Banderas and Emma Thompsons." he added.
Lucia, Lucia, where Kuno portrays Adrian, symbolized his debut in films, for an artist that comes from television. "I could stay a long time in television and live well, and I need to diversify myself, because I needed it as an actor and as a person." he concluded.
