Roadkill

On the road today:

One fresh possum

One unidentifiable mangled bird

Two unidentifiable former mammals

One very squashed something on the very edge of the road - proof that some bastards swerve purposely to run over defenceless animals. Fuckers.

Sigh

They've done something to this template - the font never used to be so fucking small. I'm gonna have to find a different template now. Not that I update this blog much at all.

I was driving to work this morning and saw a freshly dead white duck in the middle of the road. It upset me. I'd seen that duck on the side of the road near that area with its little ducklings and hoped to god(dess) some arsehole didn't kill them. Well the mother's gone. What's happened to the poor little ones? Fuck I was angry. Fuck humans. I fucking hate people. The number of roadkills on that road is un-fucking-believable. I want permission to run over one of the losers who purposely swerve to run over an animal on the road. I want to flatten them and squash their remains into the road. But no - I'm not allowed to because humans are supposed to be superior and all that shit. Fuck humans. They don't deserve the world.

And this font is so fucking...

ITS are looking into it IV

To change the topic entirely - back to swans. I revisted the lake which I used to walk past. The swans had another family of cygnets - 4 of them - so cute - grey and fluffy. One of the parents seemed alarmed and I heard a couple of answering cygnets. They were stuck at the bottom of some concrete steps and couldn't quite get over the curb to their parents on a grassy slope. One of them managed it by stepping on its sibling's head. I would have helped them up, I was that close to them, but feared what the parent might do - ie attack me. So I left them to it, in a hurry anyway, but I'm sure they would've been ok as the parent was heading towards them.

Time for coffee...

ITS are looking into it II

Version 2 of Beaker's interpretation of ITS (Information Technology Services as they call themselves) - the useless twats who barely fix anything.

Just to annoy me, this site refused to display this particular post. Don't you HATE technology sometimes? It's the 21st century and they still can't get it right.

ITS are looking into it

Whenever anything technical goes wrong at work we contact those that are supposed to fix it. They often pass the more difficult problems or the ones they're not responsible for or didn't cause to "ITS". ITS are in fact the cause of most of the problems. The response we get every single time is "ITS are looking into it".

I happened to look across to my computer while on the laptop and saw my toy Beaker just lying there. He seemed to be the very picture of 'ITS'.

A little annoyance

The inserting of cutlery into containers for washing, drying or access:

Why? Why do people put cutlery into said containers handles first??? What idiot inserts a knife with the blade pointing outwards??? Why must I handle the actual spoon rather than the handle, in order to retrieve it? Is that exactly hygienic? And whoever put said cutlery into said container - did they have clean hands??? What ghastly germs inhabit my spoon and spread themselves, as I stir my coffee? IDIOTS!!!

Not something you see every day

Random synchronised cars:

I was driving behind two cars, one behind the other. At the same time the first one veered left and the one behind veered right - both at exactly the same time, their indicators blinking on and off at exactly the same time.

You couldn't have planned it.

Birds

I'll never understand why some people say they hate a certain type of bird - magpies, starlings, sparrows, pigeons. Hate? Why? They're just birds. Did they steal your possessions? Did they cause the death of a loved one? Did they break your heart? Did they call you rude names? How the fuck can you hate a bird? They have as much right to be on the planet as we do.

Fuck I hate people.

The Duck and Swan channel

It's true I have nothing to say. Since everything is so mundane, it's just too much of an effort to write about. The sky is grey, the grass is long, the flies have arrived, the ants have died (I put bait out).

Some arsehole ran over some swans. The swan family had new cygnets earlier in the year and the whole family would wander around oblivious to humans. Unfortunately they started the habit of sleeping on the road. Most kind souls drove around them, but some fucker obviously didn't and two or perhaps even three were found dead. Thankfully I didn't see it but was told.

Nearly ran over some ducks myself yesterday. But unlike the fucker above, it was on the open highway, not on a small road on which you are supposed to drive ultra slowly. About six ducks were quickly crossing the highway, but I was also travelling at speed and had to really put the brakes on and veer off to avoid hitting them. They stopped still for a few seconds, probably out of shock, but...

Noisy computer

I wonder why the fuck it's so feckin' noisy. It's not like I have a lot of programs running.
Sitting in the dark, listening to shit commercials on the TV. I don't know why some idiot advertiser thinks that shouting at people will make them want to buy their shit. It's always the cheap and nasty ads which are the worst. Yeah fuck off with your consumerist bullshit. I don't give a fuck if something is 50% off - only confirms that the shit was way overpriced in the first place. I'm not buying shit I don't need. I already have too much stuff. It makes me sick sometimes how people collect so much shit - so much STUFF - they're surrounded by objects - the latest, the best, the newest, the most expensive and what's it all for?
I'm feeling pretty morose as you can probably guess.

More bus...

The young balding guy has had the straggly bits cut off so he looks cool now. When I see him I just wanna go 'awwww' and grin and hug him. Weird.
Bus driver this morning was a bit heavy with his foot. Zooming off and breaking suddenly - I was standing and would have flown all over the place if I hadn't been holding on. What a total wanker.
Been totally down lately so yeah - not much happening and not much to say.

Observations on a bus

Who am I kidding. There's nothing much of interest to write about. I do enjoy people watching though. There's a guy who catches the bus to work that I know from sight and he's grown a beard and it makes him look stern yet distinguished - very different from what he looks like without a beard. Then there's the Asian women - one older with grey hair and one younger who gets on later and joins her and they chat away - no idea where they come from - a South East Asian region anyway. The guy in about his 40s who once had hair cream showing in his cropped hair and it looked like bird shit. He seems to have one arm shorter than the other and walks with a limp. The tall, attractive, but large woman with long dark hair. Then there's the older woman with short white hair and glasses who, I hear, has recently got engaged. There's hope for me yet. Though waiting until I'm close to my 60s is a bit depressing.
One bus I got there was a young guy in his 20s...

Together alone

Funny how the human species are the most populated and yet millions are lonely.
I was on one of the strange buses - the imported Japanese ones which are a weird layout - tall and narrow with few seats. The seats are on different levels and some seats face forward and some face back. Everyone basically has a great view of all the other passengers and there they all are resolutely avoiding each others' eyes. It's so funny and yet so sad. How uncomfortable people feel when they have to sit facing each other. We'd all rather sit forward near a window and stare out at a world that passes us by.

Do you know?

That since I wrote about giving the dog a walk every day that it's been raining the whole friggin time? When the weather is fine, I'm at work.
So, I look outside at the cold dampness. I can see it's still raining, although lightly now. It's dismal.
The sky is the colour of concrete (hmm that's on a song by somebody - she must have lived in NZ haha). New Zealand or Aotearoa - land of the long white cloud - nope, it's land of the long grey cloud. Blue sky is rare. And it's depressing.

I haven't written in here much. I think my last entry mentioned descriptions of my walks with the dog? Haha. I've been out every night so didn't get home til after dark and needed to make some food for myself, etc. And of course it's getting dark earlier. Not to mention the rain.... Yup, so much for promises.

Headachey

Haven't updated this blog for a while. But when I think about it there's just a blank. Even thinking of a title for this entry was too much effort. My head pounded instead.
This blog changed from its original intentions then went all naturalistic and ran out of steam. I didn't particularly want to comment on cloud formations or the beauty I see occasionally. Nor did I want to write about flies buzzing around the laptop, as bored as I was.
'So what is this blog about?' I ask myself. The mundane, the boring, the little things no-one notices. But I often don't notice them myself to comment on them - hence the blank pages of my mind.
I lack energy and motivation. I go from one thing to another, never satisfied. I sit on my butt too much. I've vowed from next week to get off my butt and give the dog more frequent walks. I promised her. It will also get me noticing small stuff. Be prepared for longwinded descriptions of...

Weird

Like a figment of my imagination I saw a couple of black swans with a new family of fluffy grey cygnets. For weeks I'd only seen one black swan and wondered what happened to the other three. So may be the male/female was hiding and the young swans were taken elsewhere? (I hope they weren't "culled".) Seems strange to see cygnets and ducklings at this time of year (autumn). Saw a cow with a large swathe of white around its middle (looked like a bandage) with a little calf feeding off her - also with a large white patch around its middle. Looked so cute. Why this time of year?
