Hot

and tired...
I have a day off work and I just feel too tired or hot to do anything productive.  Petrol has gone up again so I don't feel like filling up the container for the lawnmower much less actually mowing the lawn.
The cat miaows.  I guess it's time to feed him...

Cat killers

I was driving to work and saw two dead cats on the road.  That ain't some accidental car hit.  That was murder.  Sure enough, after I got back from work the neighbour asked me if I had a cat and whether it was around.  Yep, I said.  Good, because his cat had been killed - knocked on the head and left on the road - one of those two I saw.  He was trying to find the owner of the other cat.

Anyone who cold-bloodedly kills an animal like that is sick.  It's been proven that people who are cruel to animals or torture them and kill them are way more likely to murder humans.  They have no feeling, no compassion.  They should be treated the same way they treat animals.  If they tie up a duck and burn it then that person should be tied up and burned.  If they smash a rock on a cat's head, they should have a large rock smashed on the head.  Only fair.

Luckily my cat was inside that night and I'll keep inside for a while...  I'm not losing my cat to some sick bastard who deserves to die.

Clockwatching

I sit here watching the clock, seeing how much longer I have before I have to make a move.  Surrounded by untidiness and things to do - which to do first and how long will it take?  Trying to plan the weekend, wondering if I can do it all.  Time is running out... and yet all I can do right now is stare into the distance, eyes glazed.

I miss my swans

Taking a different way to work means I miss out on seeing the wildlife around the pond.  I miss it and especially miss seeing the swan family.  The only times I've been near the pond they were nowhere in sight.  Quite weird how I enjoyed seeing the young ones grow and mature and saw them on a fairly regular basis and grew attached.  Quite weird.

Sad story

Just heard a sad story on the news.  A man went in to the sea to rescue his dog who had chased some birds in to the sea and got into problems.  The man also got in to problems - strong undertow.  The bodies of both man and dog were found later.  How sad.  I know I would do the same - going in to rescue my beloved pet.  A story like that saddens me more than a report about a bomb or an earthquake.
