Lightning Recap

by: Sassy1

So here is a lightning recap of my life and the people in it:

B.B Is still hot and delightful and kind and mine (hotness has been independantly verified by Mrs. Macca)

I'm still busy and crazy at work.

Nicky is still awesome and clever and beautiful and the apple of mine eye etc.

Mr. D. still hasn't located his nuts.

SHE is still a skanky manky mole.

I discovered that my sister didn't mean to be a beyatch to me, and have restarted her website.

And the parentals are still assessing whether they want to be together.

Oh, and I'm still slack at blogging.

Long time gone

by: Sassy1

Hiya Y'all, I am so so sorry that I've been away for so long. Its been a rough and delicious and travel-y time here in Sassville.

Things with BB for a start are going really well. He's great value and I spend a lot of time laughing. That and just feeling generally appreciated and cared for. He's really very.... Nice. I know, I know. But I think that I'm probably ready for nice, you know.

You will undoubtedly be shocked and surprised / not care very much that I have already introduced this charming fellow to my dear little Nicky. I'm rather surprised myself actually, especially considering the whole No One Meets My Girl Policy. However, he has two kids, one of whom is in Nicky's year at school, and as I had met his kids it seemed prudent to allow her to meet him so that if they got to talking at school she would at least have some idea what was going on. And they got along awesomely from the very first - its a very comfortable situation all round.

Plus he's really very attractive, but I'm pretty sure I have covered that in previous entries!

Life with Mr. D. has been somewhat challenging of late - between him shutting down my bank account (by accident) and his complaints over my attempting to retrieve the four dollars a month in Child Support he's supposed to pay me... its just great.

Oh, and SHE has been striking again all over the shop - refusing to allow me to speak to Nicky when I call, and there was the text message that she sent me "You are a slut." I really enjoyed that one.

Particularly because it was a message that I can now take to my lawyer... what an idiot.

So we battle on. Thats all we can do I guess. I wait and I watch and I record and I keep myself pretty and well mannered and involved in Nicky's life and communicate everything that happens to them despite the lack of information coming the other way. Roll on end of the year and the new court dates.

Work is challenging as always, very rarely do I get to take a proper break and I've only just finished doing some work here at home - I didn't finish it, I'm too tired and distracted and over it. I'll do it tomorrow when I'm getting paid for it. Thats not the right attitude to have is it.

And finally, I am having great difficulty typing because I got new fake nails fitted last week and I can't hit the keys cleanly anymore. At this rate my delete button will be worn out within a week.

I do really truly promise to blog more often now, but right now I'm exhaused and have some pegging out to do (thats both true, and for you Jobe my lovely) so I'm going again. See you sooner rather than later I hope, Sass.

Matrimonials (plural), Flowers and Batherboy...

by: Sassy1

A dashing update of all that has happened in the last couple of weeks...

Firstly: The Bush Wedding, aka Kinder Mum and Her Sole Mate Get Hitched In Beautiful Bush Setting.

This was a simply delightful event to attend and pay witness to. The setting was gorgeous, the weather was lovely, the bride was stunning, the groom bashful, stoked and teary in the appropriate places, the music was awesome, and everything went off an absolute treat.

My Favourite Bits:

  • Being part of the day, especially how she did the bridal bouquet. The brides closest friends each got a single longstemmed rose, and got to write a message on a card attached to the rose. At the end of the ceremony, we each got to give the Bride a kiss and hand her our rose, which she then tied together with a ribbon and that was her bouquet. It was a lovely thing to do, and she got to keep the wishes after the wedding.
  • The dearest most lovely lady who did the reading before mine, who was doing an excellent job of projecting her voice to the whole gathering, but had a mental slip when saying the word "lebanese" when describing the author of the piece that she was about to read... with the effect of the entire audience cracking up at her declaration that a "Lesbian man" had written it!
  • Everything about the place where it was held, it was rustic and beautiful and elegant and stunning.
  • The music - we literally danced all night long.
  • Taking a bus to the event with my dear friends from Sassville - we all stayed at the same motel and hired a bus to travel in, which was so much fun, I can't even begin to tell you.
  • The "after party" when the bus pulled back into the motel, and we had hot food, more drinks, and laughed until we couldn't stand up.

I wish my dearest friends every success in their marriage - they are such beautiful people and they really are meant to be together.

Secondly: The Chilled Wedding aka The Wedding Where The Bride And Groom Proved That You Don't Have To Spend A Fortune To Put On An Excellent Show, And That Being Chilled Out And Relaxing Is Awesome For Everyone Involved.

Another simply delightful event to attend, this wedding had a very different feel about it. The bride was the most relaxed and chilled out person I think I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with, and her attitude made everything run like clockwork. She looked beautiful before we left the house, and when we arrived at the church and she sat beside her (now) husband, she positively radiated happiness and looked completely stunning.

I had not met the groom prior to the wedding practice, but meeting him allowed me to see that they are really happy together. Chatting with his family, it was clear that they love the bride dearly, and think that they have both made an excellent choice.

My Favourite Bits:

  • Getting to be one of the Bridesmaids.
  • Getting to help get the Bride ready, and do her hair for her, and her mums hair, and generally fuss over the wedding party. It was great fun, especially because she was so relaxed.
  • Spending the whole day with Tink and the Bride.
  • Riding in a Fire Engine, twice. (No shit.)
  • Learning how to use Hollywood Tape, and the laughter at our subsequent unfortunate incidents with said tape. Note for others: Make sure you get the position right, because that stuff kills when you have to pull it off later.
  • Everything about the reception: Beautiful location, beautiful weather, funny speeches, fantasic food, and Moscato. What more could one ask?

I should start at the beginning really - with the BatherBoy update.

We had lunch late in the week before the first wedding, and had made plans to meet up on the Sunday following the wedding, for lunch in town.

Following the first wedding, we took our crew on teh bus to the local Bush-Bogan pub where my family had been out the week before. We sat out on teh deck in the sun, and had breakky together, which was hilarious. My friends are truly the funniest, kindest most amusing people to hang out with.

Whilst we were there, I was copping a fair amount of stick over the BatherBoy (who for the sake of my fingers we are going to call BB from now on) thing, and they wanted to know when BB and I were going out next. I replied that we were supposed to meet for lunch, and just then teh phone rang, and it was BB. They all started yelling, invite him here! So I did.

And he came, and we all had a lovely time together. He fitted in really well, which is kindof important to me. I think that the person that you are with really needs to be able to hang out with your friends and hold their own, otherwise it makes life quite difficult.

So the bus crew eventually left, and BB and I stayed on. Mr. D. had contacted me earlier to say that he was going to be bringing Nicky home late, so I knew that we had pretty well all day, if we wanted it, to hang out. He was really nervous, which was cute.

We ended up having the whole day together, we laughed and went to the movies, had lunch and dinner, took a few walks, and basically just got to know one another and had a lovely time.

We've been seeing a fair bit of one another since then, and pretty well behaving like teenagers... his car windows getting steamy as we park in the driveway. Courting is such a joyful thing to do!

Today I went around to his place to collect my phone (which I had left there the night before, on a social call) and he had bought me a bunch of flowers - how sweet is that! I think the last time I got flowers from a guy was my birthday in 2005. So thats two years ago now - boys take heed. Girls like to get flowers for no particular reason other than that you fancy them. (The girl, not the flowers)

So things with BB are going swimmingly (see what I did there? LOL) and so far its all very nice and gentle and slow and delightful.

This probably does not bode well, and from my previous track record you should be expecting to get back to our regularly scheduled heartbreak and mayhem shortly.

So thats enough about me.... how are YOU?
