30 beliefs after 30 years
I've never been this old before. Today I turn 30.
Of course, through these few years my main beliefs center on Christ birth, death, and resurrection, as well as the Bible is inspired, inerrant, and infallable. Other than these I've been inspired by Tom Peters to write my 30 at 30 [he wrote 60 at 60].
- Trust is the foundation to every relationship.
- Time is more valuable than money, and people are more valuable than time.
- You can learn a little something from everyone if you just listen long enough.
- Influence begins with motivation.
- Accountability is not about only finding out where a person went wrong. It also includes celebrating a person’s success.
- The Christian life is too short to have spectators.
- I’m not beyond failure, but fear of failure will not keep me from success.
- I must make time to do it right, because I don’t have the time to do it twice.
- Pink is not a symbol of one’s masculinity.
- Golf is a cult.
- Mentor-relationships are a lifestyle not a task.
- Success is not measured in dollars but lives.
- God’s plan for you on this earth does not end the moment you die.
- There is joy in serving Jesus.
- Credit cards are our enemy.
- Life is a battle with real heroes and real enemies.
- Education should not be measured in years and levels or by the school or teacher. Instead, education is measured by the recipient and the way he uses that education.
- I don’t mind being busy, as long as I’m getting ahead and not just always catching up.
- Dumb ideas deliver packages the next day, put electricity in your home, and help you quickly travel long distances.
- You can’t stop a charging bull, but you can keep him from charging.
- It’s better to edit than create.
- The life of a dog seems so nice; dogs have little responsibility in life. On the other hand, they have little reward to show for their life.
- Life is not about sorting friends and enemies. Do the right thing and everyone will find his place.
- Mulligan and re-do do not exist in child rearing.
- Problems in a task are not a problem. The problem comes when I am surprised by the problem.
- Teens are a product of their environment.
- Never be afraid to dream too much. Always be afraid to only dream.
- Visionaries are a dime a dozen, innovators are priceless.
- Be passionate!
- I don’t care much for passivity.
