A few poems for Ye...
Before...
Before the cruelty of others
Before we met I am sure
I passed you by in the street and if I recall
Out eys met just briefly, as you shuffled awkwardly.
You looked at me in such a way, like pleading me not to walk on by
But at the time I could not see past your tattered jeans and scarred skin
I barely saw that look in your eye
As I grow into this person, I wish not to be
I find myself feeling lonesome somewhat, though people I love surround me
Each now and then I remember our glance
And when I do it kills me and almost breaks my heart.
For if you were to look at me that way now
I could not turn and walk away
For I have suffered the cruelty of others and the pain which true love brings.
So before the cruelty of others before we ment I am sure
I loved you.
Loved you then under city lights and grey skies
Love you now through the dark as I write
And love you always.
