My Pet Ralph

Last night as I retired in front of the teevee, I heard this little scratching noise. Initially in shock (as intruders were in next door neighbours yard and thought they had returned) i jumped up startled, only to look down a find a cute little mouse walking around the coffee table legs. Ralph (the mouse) looked at me in the eyes with kindness. In return I thumped the floor with my frost bitten foot letting Ralph know whose boss. Ralph scampered off to the fireplace and disappeared.
I first found out about Ralph when a house guest (Sushme) let me know that we have a rat in the house. Sushme told me to be careful because it will eat valuable papers in the office, gnawing away gradually over time.
With the news, I began contemplating the method to exterminate this rat. Should I use a mouse trap, bait or call pesticides. Then out of the blue the rat revealed his identity, 'a cute little mousey', awww. This little mouse will sneak out at the quietest of times...
