Growing Sims

I've been around all the families in Veronaville updating them all (except for Philippe Champignon who I haven't played for some time).  I tend to play them one Sim day at a time until I decide to focus on one.  Which family to start with?

Well to begin with, Artois, Reefer and Zen graduated from university.

Artois above (with Serena DeMarr who he fancies).  He looks more like his grandfather.  Reefer below:

Artois at first moved into Roxie's place (until someone told him she's his mother) and he quickly moved out and into Reefer's little bachelor pad next to Jan's place.

Meanwhile, Reefer's bro grew to a teenager:

At Emma's, the twins grew to school age. 

Antoine above and Antoinette below:

Emma continues to lust after others - regardless of gender.

She now has 5 lovers but of course wants 10.

At Artois' dad Henri's place, his little sister, Hollandia, finally made it to teenhood after getting perilously close to failing at school and a visit from the social worker.

She looks like her auntie Monique.

Katya knew her end was near, so she decided to invite family over for a last reunion.  Guillaume refused to come over, making lame excuses.  Amelie agreed to come over but of course couldn't bring the grandchildren.

Alas, Katya had forgotten about her cow plant near the path to the house.  Unfortunately the cow plant had some lovely cake on offer and Amelie, being rather greedy, tried to get it.  She died in the attempt.  Oops.  I hadn't planned for that at all.  That's what you get when your mother becomes an unnatural crossbreeder and leaves dangerous plants around.

So Katya never did get to see anyone before the Grim Reaper visited that evening.  She was 81 - a grand age.

Kane didn't seem at all upset that Amelie never came home.  His neighbour, Larissa Landgraab, invited him over for dinner, perhaps to offer her condolences, but she loved the company and attention, finally.  Not wanting to let Kane go, she proposed to him.  He accepted!  His third marriage looms (and he never wanted to marry in the first place).  I took pics (it was Larissa's very first kiss, sadly) but after looking three times and not finding them, I gave up.

Francois died, age 72. 

He'd just been on the phone.  Perhaps it was the shock of hearing that his daughter had split up with Alex and moved in with Kane.  Naturally Katya was upset.  She's now in a big house on her own.

72 seems to be a popular age to die lately.  Pierre has managed to get past that magic number and reached 73.  Pierre has reached his LTW of Professional Party Guest (just like his mother).  About time, I think.  He's been seen visiting Roxie Sharpe's place.  More on Roxie and her new flatmate at a later date.

Over at Henri's, Erina still believes she's pregnant and refuses to go to work, even though she's an elder.  I made her retire, silly old bag.  I think she and her actual daughter, Stella, are just a wee bit insane - they love going up and down the lift and I hear 'bing' 'bing' 'bing' 'bing' as they can't make up their minds what the hell they're doing or where they're going.

Nothing much happening at Monique's.  Just a family pic to finish with.

The middle child, Jacques, is in bed asleep.

Nothing much happening but Victoria's family of two boys are growing.  Reefer's gone to uni and looks very much like his dad, Guillaume and grand-dad, Francois.

His little brother, Peyote, was upset to see his father flirting with a workmate.

Victoria didn't seem concerned at her father's death at all.

Francois is nearing the end of his life.  Pierre and the rest have a little way to go.  Emma is flirting with every guy she meets.

Over to Henri's.  Erina never did have the baby she kept saying she was having and grew into an elder on the same day as Henri (no pic).  Stella moved back home and looked after toddler, Hollandia, when she wasn't out being a bagman.  I don't think I took a pic of Hollandia after she grew to school age.  Artois is at uni.

At Monique's, the family of three boys are growing.  Eldest, Jean, is now a teen.

Youngest, Gerard, grew from toddler:

Monique's LTW is to have three children graduate - damn.

Not very interesting posts, I have to admit.  I was concentrating on Alex for a while but like to keep the others' ages relative so do quick updates on them all.  Otherwise I forget.  I might just concentrate on one or two families in future.  If you have a favourite - let me know!

Emma was at university but I think I made her drop out.

Anyway, she's now back home and wants 20 simultaneous lovers.  She has three, is working on a fourth (Greg Langerak), and paid 3000 simoleons for a blind date but that didn't work out at all.  He just wasn't interested.  What a waste of money.

Her brother, Philippe, just married his live-in-lover, Gwen.

Gwen is now pregnant.

Philippe and cousin, Guillaume, have the same job.

They look like their fathers, Francois and Pierre (except Philippe has a big nose).

Artois is now at university.  I'm not sure where his sister Stella is - I forgot about her.

His little sister, Hollandia, isn't getting much attention.

Erina keeps missing work because she thinks she's pregnant but she's not getting bigger at all.  She'll be an elder shortly.

Nothing much happening with Pierre, Francois or their wives.  Trying to get enough friends so they can be promoted - pain in the butt.

Henri's wife, Erina, had supposedly become pregnant.  She certainly thinks she is and the option to try for baby has gone.  But she's not growing any bigger.  When it's time to go to work she says someone as pregnant as she is shouldn't go to work, but she's now being threatened with being fired if she doesn't turn up.  A glitch, no doubt.  It's weird though as she's convinced she's having one.  She's nearing elderhood so it doesn't look like it's gonna happen.  Henri didn't particularly want another baby.  Stella is now at university and Artois is now a teenager.

So Erina decided to ring up and adopt one.  Henri wasn't keen on adopting someone else's sprog, so he had a plan.  He visited Roxie again.  It took three visits before she became pregnant.  Henri knew she wouldn't look after the kid and he could then adopt his own child.

Roxie had a girl and called it Hollandia.  She fed it enough not to be taken away while a baby but Hollandia then grew to a toddler.

Roxie had a few male visitors while Hollandia was in her cot.  One of them was her own teenage son, Artois.

If Artois had been older I'm sure she would have invited him to woohoo as he's not officially her son.

Another of Roxie's visitors got buried in the bed (another glitch).

He was woohooing while she was frozen.  Only once he'd finished, did Roxie woohoo.

It was all very weird.

Naturally Hollandia got ignored.

So the inevitable happened.  The social worker turned up.

She was delivered to Henri's place the next day.

Erina was there to collect her and immediately play with her.

She still shows no signs of pregnancy.

Meanwhile over at Guillaume's, Reefer got clever and climbed out of the cot.

He now has a baby brother called Peyote.

After Heidi died, Henri and family packed everything or sold stuff and moved out and into a new house called Forsyth Place.

There was room for an upper level but there was no floor, so I added a floor and then there was the difficulty of adding stairs so I had to install a lift (elevator) instead.

Artois got a big bedroom to himself upstairs and Stella took the existing single bedroom at the front of the house.  She grew into a teen not long after.

The immortal Hiroshi was visiting at the time.  Erina suddenly wants another baby so she's now pregnant again.

Meanwhile over at Guillaume and Victoria's, Reefer went for an outing.

He wasn't clever enough to figure out that snow could be fun and nutritional.

Victoria's cousin's daughter, Caitlyn, did however.

Caitlyn got a baby sister.  Harriett gave birth to a girl and called her Brianna.

Across the road Monique also gave birth - to another boy, and called him Jacques.

Since my categories are family-related instead of more general like toddlers or something, I've separated this one from the previous post.

Monique's kid, Jean, grew into a toddler as well - so many friggin' babies lately.

Monique's granny, Heidi, died age 76.  Just before she did, she unwisely used the plastic surgery machine with undesirable results.  Sadly, her ugly face will appear forever on the family tree.

Henri, Erina, Stella and Artois had moved in with Henri's mother Heidi, who missed J-P.  Heidi retired so could look after the kids.

Artois grew into school age and looks very like his father.

Henri became an uncle.  His sister Monique gave birth to a boy.

She named him after her father and called him Jean.  (Her cousin, Philippe was also named after J-P).

Both parents want kids so Monique's pregnant again.

At Francois' place, Amelie also moved to university.

She moved into the same dorm as Kane Danaher, who is actually her boyfriend.  I now have 7 at university: Alex Lillard, Damien Tan, Kane and Richard Danaher, Leon and Dana Collie and Amelie Champignon.  (Sigh.)  I've planned for the Collies to drop out but that still leaves 5!

At Pierre's, Emma grew into a teen.

Her brother, Philippe, had moved to uni, dropped out, and is now engaged and living with Gwen Gray(?).  I lost control of Philippe as H took over and had him fall in love with one of her characters when he was a teen still living at home.  

Here he is walking past the house of doom in Bluewater Village (the house for Landgraab rejects).  He now has long hair to cover his pixie ears. 

Pierre is a freelance photographer and I think Eva is president of a company - can't remember.

Entering Victoria and Guillaume's house, I found the wedding still going.  At first unaware this was the case I got Guillaume and Victoria to woohoo, not realising that Guillaume had just put something into the oven.  The guests gathered around the resulting fire, but thankfully none of them got too close.  The wedding party ended and they left.  Vic and G woke up in time to run to the limo for the honeymoon.  Meanwhile, the fire raged.  They came back to the fire, but instead of calling for the fire brigade, Guillaume got too close.

Victoria wasn't much help - she stood and panicked.  It was Ken and Elle Collie all over again (the same house - it must be cursed).  I finally got Victoria to call the fire brigade and the fire was big enough to need two firemen.

Not very active are they?  Victoria's still panicking but Guillaume seems to be out of danger.

Finally it was out and they were safe.  Victoria's mother, Devon, remembered that the same thing had happened when her long deceased uncle had lived there and that a subsequent owner of the house had also died there so she advised they move out - pronto.

They moved to a house I'd built earlier but which had stood empty.  It is near Darlene's place.

They were both glad to be alive.

Victoria was pregnant and gave birth to a boy.

His name's Reefer.

sprung a surprise on girlfriend Victoria Lillard.

How could she resist such a lovely sparkly thing?  She accepted, then realised, too late, what that meant.  Victoria is very like her mother in more than just looks.  She wants to flirt and have multiple lovers.  She didn't want engagement at all.  TOO LATE!  Hahahahahahahaaaaa (laughs the evil Sim god).

They ditched uni, much to Guillaume's parents' disgust, and moved into the weird round house which had claimed the lives of Ken and Elle Collie years before.  I don't think Victoria thinks much of their new abode.

Guillaume did the wedding invitations and, as he was only allowed five guests, he invited his family only.  Devon and Jeremy weren't invited - oh dear.  A couple of neighbours joined the wedding celebration anyway - none other than Roxie Sharpe...

and Hiroshi (who should, by rights, be the same age as former room-mates Dan and Katya).

(Yes you, mate - you're supposed to be old, which is why Pierre is looking on in surprise)

Guillaume decided not to wear his military uniform to his own wedding,

while Victoria fancied herself as Cleopatra.

The wedding seemed to go well, despite there being no food provided.  I don't think I hung around until the end of it though.  Will Victoria stay faithful?  Hmmm.

Victoria's brother, Alex, meanwhile, had moved into a dorm at Academie le Tour.  He was now free of parental restraints and expectations and could express himself.

Will he drop out too?

Harriett had beaten her to it, but Monique had her wedding the next day - the first day of autumn.  Her house was across the road from Harriett's.

Normally it's the groom who waits for the bride... 

Pictured so far are Monique's cousins Philippe and Guillaume, her brother Henri, her mother just behind him and Harriett in the middle.  The pagoda thing was in case it rained.

Greg finally turned up.

Cousin Amelie in green and Nicholas Baena joined the others.

Guillaume looks impatient.

Some people headed inside, but cousins Amelie and Philippe chatted and I think Harriett is throwing water balloons at Luc.

Inside, brother and sister had a dance while Katya chatted to her sister-in-law.

The wedding party was a success.  After the honeymoon, the second Mr and Mrs Langerak did their woohooing on their bed - with one difference...

Monique became pregnant.  Both Greg and Monique's long-term want is to have 3 children graduate - how handy.

Poor old Jean-Philippe never did get the time to make more friends for another promotion.  He'd worked hard on the skills and was now too grumpy to take the elixir of life.  His time had run out.  He was about to have a meal when the Grim Reaper followed him into the kitchen.

He was only 69.  Heidi went lala and I could've sworn I took a pic but I can't find it.

Shortly afterwards Sonique met the same fate just after she came back home from work.

It's a bit dark - I don't think there was any outside lighting.  Sonique was 72.  They were the last of the first Sims I made.

That left Sonique's son, Dane, alone in the house but I didn't like him anyway and after fast-forwarding his life for a while, took the fridge away and he starved.

Over the road his half-brother, Jean-Paul lived with Tracey Nator (daughter of Stacey Landgraab).  I didn't really want to do anything with them either so had Tracey light a barbecue in the house.  She died in the fire (finishing what Extermy didn't start).  Jean-Paul lived but I took his fridge away as well.  I didn't want to play him at all.  So Sonique's family is gone.

I guess I'll have to go back to all the students at university again - sigh.  It takes too long.  I'll just have to fast-forward most of it and even then it takes ages.

I got Roxie to move out of Academie le Tour and into Veronaville so Henri could visit her more easily (and to help in my cunning plan).  Henri wanted a son but Erina didn't want to be pregnant again - she wanted to concentrate on career.  So, to get pregnant, Roxie had to be in Veronaville.  Sure enough she got pregnant and had a boy (conveniently).  His name's Artois.  Henri visited to see his baby son.

Unfortunately, on one of his visits, Henri discovered that Roxie hadn't changed her ways.  She had just been woohooing with lover number 5 when Henri caught them at it.

Some obligatory slapping was in order.

and a desire to beat up the lover...

There was a fight, naturally...

which Henri won.

But that was pretty much it for the relationship between Henri and Roxie (for the second time). 

Artois grew into a toddler pretty quickly.

But Roxie's not the most motherly of women.

Roxie ignored the kid for over a day, so the social worker came and took Artois away.

When Henri heard about that, he applied for adoption.

Erina welcomed the, now long-haired, boy with open arms, little knowing that the boy was her husband's real son.

In the meantime, Stella had quickly grown into school-age.

She will look like her mum.

I made her hair pink just for comparison.  Katya didn't like it but I'll change it later.

Francois grew into an elder.

Amelie grew into a teen.

She doesn't look much different.  This means, of course, that I'd better work on all the Sims at Academie le Tour.  Damn.

Being Francois' twin, naturally Pierre got old as well.

Next, the saga of Henri and Roxie.

Raoul's widow, Maddie, died age 74.

She was mourned by her daughter, Eva, and granddaughter, Emma.

A day or so later, Emma grew into school age.

Even though she had learned to walk, talk and be potty trained AND have a couple of logic skills she grew up badly (cos she was in a bad mood at the time???).

Her brother Philippe, grew up about a day later.

Over at Francois's, Guillaume went off to uni to be with his girlfriend, Victoria Lillard.

His parents worked toward promotion and Amelie was nearly taken away by the social worker for not doing her homework.   Well, she was actually, but I didn't save it and came back and made the bitch do her homework.  Watching kids TV made her happier than playing computer games.

"Hey, she's still here".  I don't think you can see Amelie's eyes but they're a scary blue.

Or they were scary when I took the pic but they don't show up.

Katya grew into an elder and looks remarkably like Franke Potente (German actress).

Perhaps not in this photo but at other times she did.  She needs a visit to a clothes shop.

Heading over to Jean-Philippe's, he was promoted from Leading Man to Blockbuster Director.  Making and keeping enough friends is a pain in the arse, and he has to make more for the next promotion.

The effort must have got to him because he went on a date with old flame, the now widowed Sonique.

They woohooed in the car before ending the dream date.

JP and Heidi visited Henri and Erina, where their granddaughter, Stella, had just grown into a toddler.

Heidi cuddled the kid while JP joined the others outside.

Henri, perhaps sick of changing nappies, etc, took a leaf out of his father's book and went on a date with ex-girlfriend Roxie Sharp.

They'd woohooed in the photo booth.  Seems like he's still in love with her.

Roxie came by the next day but Erina shooed her off.

Will JP and his son be found out by their wives?  Will they continue having an affair?  Who knows?  I don't.  Yet.

At Pierre's, toddler Emma learned to walk and talk.

At Jean-Philippe's, Monique moved to college.  Henri and Erina had a daughter and called her Stella.

Guillaume and Victoria Lillard sneaked out together.  They had a date the following night.

They are now 'going steady'.

Leo Bachman reached the top of his career and became professional party guest.  Unfortunately he died very soon after, but it was a platinum occasion.  He was sent off with a drink and a suitcase to swaying hula girls at age 74 while Gretchen was still sleeping.

Another platinum death happened at Raoul's house (his house no longer). 

Poor old Raoul - the last of the first generation.  He died aged 80.  Philippe immediately started crying and Maddie went crazy. 

Pierre cried much later.  Even baby Emma registered her grandfather's death.  It seems a much smaller family now.

Emma grew into a toddler and oops - has the same pixie features that Philippe did. 

She quickly got a makeover with longer hair to cover the giveaway ears.

Jean-Philippe is getting older and at only 64 is nearing the end of his life.  Heidi, at the same age, has a while to go.  J-P got promoted to leading man and voted the sexiest.  He's not too bad looking for his age. 

Unfortunately his long-term want was to have 50 first dates and that's not gonna happen.  He nearly went on a date with Sonique but still hasn't.

Over at Sonique's they bought a guitar and Heinrich got into it. 

Dane got some rough treatment from Jean-Paul.

Jean-Paul finally grew into an adult and moved out. 

He wasn't happy but hey - not every kid can go to university (why do they all want to go?).  Dane won't be going either so he still has another 7 days of teenhood.  I guess I could send him off and then make him drop out - it would be much quicker.  But he'll have the house to himself soon anyway.

Henri invited Roxie to his new house and tried to get her to move in so they could marry but the 'propose' option just wasn't showing up on any of her visits.  Could she already be engaged to someone else?  In any case, Henri found out about another lover and broke off the engagement.  Roxie was a little shocked.

I think Henri's parents were secretly pleased.

So Henri, who had been looking forward to a wedding and a family, was without a bride.  Not to worry - a new person had moved to the neighbourhood - Erina Speight.

Another attractive blonde but more marriageable (she's into families) - so it was no trouble for Henri to fall in love with her.  She moved straight in anyway as a flatmate.

Erina even brought up the subject of engagement so it was no problem to get hitched.

So the wedding was on.  Henri introduced his new fiancee to his mother just before the wedding!

and the deed done. 

Unlike Roxie, Erina wants lots of babies...

Henri met a student he took to immediately - a pretty blonde called Roxie Sharpe.  What he didn't know was that she had a bit of history on the campus. 

But he fell in love...

He had his first woohoo with her on the roof of the dorm.

He was so smitten he asked her to marry him - she'd make beautiful children, he figured.  She accepted but, at the same time, didn't want to get engaged...

Gunther (son of Leo), meanwhile, had fallen for Tristen Alioto and wanted to kiss her, but she turned him down.

Gunther was devastated and cried.  He decided to stop seeing her for a while and change his looks, growing dreads and a beard.

But he was depressed.

Henri grew a beard as well.

Henri finally finished university with a degree in Economics.  He invited family round for his graduation party and thought it would be a good time to introduce his fiancee, Roxie, to his family.

His uncle Pierre can definitely see the attraction.

And so could Daniel Collie.

Hmm, she was definitely a man-magnet which could be trouble...

Henri, oblivious, introduced Roxie to his mother.

But Monique didn't really take to her.

After the graduation party, Henri moved to a little green house on a corner, on the Capp Manor side of the river, ready to invite his fiancee over to live with him and have a big wedding.

Will Henri find out about Roxie's many lovers?  Will he go ahead with the marriage?  Will she go ahead with the marriage?  Will she have Henri's babies?  Will she dump him?  Will she cheat on him?  Stay tuned for part two.
