Growing Sims

I haven't updated in ages.  Mainly because I haven't played much Sims 2 lately!  The addiction was broken by Grand Theft Auto IV combined with lack of access to the computer.

I played the Randoms briefly last night.  So a quick update from the surviving family members.

I had forgotten that Enid was dead.  Hortensia and Cleve don't seem to be on good terms with each other.  Cleve has just turned into an elder.

Charlotte and Johnny were getting on fine.  Teri dropped by to see him.

But then something weird happened.  They were all in the tub together then Johnny got out and the spa pool seemed to catch fire.  Johnny caught fire and died quickly...  It happened so quickly and I was so confused that I didn't catch it 'on film'.  Teri didn't seem concerned and she went home.  Charlotte was understandably upset.

She was alone.

Nothing much happening at Terence's. 

Connor's daughter, Carine, has gone to university.

At Candida's, just before she turned into an elder, Ted had a visitor.

Candida was in the house and realised what was happening.

She gave Ted his marching orders.

Cardio was upset to lose his dad.

Michaela didn't worry.  Ted wasn't her dad anyway.  She invited her dad round and Mike just watched TV.

Henri's wife, Erina, had supposedly become pregnant.  She certainly thinks she is and the option to try for baby has gone.  But she's not growing any bigger.  When it's time to go to work she says someone as pregnant as she is shouldn't go to work, but she's now being threatened with being fired if she doesn't turn up.  A glitch, no doubt.  It's weird though as she's convinced she's having one.  She's nearing elderhood so it doesn't look like it's gonna happen.  Henri didn't particularly want another baby.  Stella is now at university and Artois is now a teenager.

So Erina decided to ring up and adopt one.  Henri wasn't keen on adopting someone else's sprog, so he had a plan.  He visited Roxie again.  It took three visits before she became pregnant.  Henri knew she wouldn't look after the kid and he could then adopt his own child.

Roxie had a girl and called it Hollandia.  She fed it enough not to be taken away while a baby but Hollandia then grew to a toddler.

Roxie had a few male visitors while Hollandia was in her cot.  One of them was her own teenage son, Artois.

If Artois had been older I'm sure she would have invited him to woohoo as he's not officially her son.

Another of Roxie's visitors got buried in the bed (another glitch).

He was woohooing while she was frozen.  Only once he'd finished, did Roxie woohoo.

It was all very weird.

Naturally Hollandia got ignored.

So the inevitable happened.  The social worker turned up.

She was delivered to Henri's place the next day.

Erina was there to collect her and immediately play with her.

She still shows no signs of pregnancy.

Meanwhile over at Guillaume's, Reefer got clever and climbed out of the cot.

He now has a baby brother called Peyote.

Even as adults, Daniel's kids made for a "interesting" times.  No peace for Daniel and Margaret.  They lost two daughters in a fire.  The youngest twins were ok, and expecting babies (which makes Margaret very happy).  But things were not so rosy at home.

Nicholas Baena, sadly, was unaccountably attacked by flies and died.  Margaret was very upset, but Dana barely broke her stride after she came home from work to find the husband absent.  Not to worry, she rang up old friend, Jessie Greaves from university and invited him round.

She basically proposed to him then and there and then asked him to move in, which he did, a poor student with just 1000 simoleons to his name.  They married in the backyard.

All seemed well and good.  The household was back to normal, sad though it was to lose Dana's first husband.  Dana was soon pregnant (more good news for Margaret).

Unfortunately, Leon's wife, Robin, was also attracted to Jessie.

In a small house of 6 people, it wasn't long before they were found out.

and by Dana.  Robin and Jessie decided to move out together.

That's probably the shortest marriage of any of my Sims so far.  (It all happened within 2 Sim days.)

Now it was just four people in the house.  And then tragedy struck once again.

Leon had somehow got locked out of the house.  While Margaret was happily serving food on the table, Leon was outside starving.  To make matters worse there was a thunderstorm and he was struck by lightning.

He died not long after.

From a household of 8 and then 6, it was now just Daniel, Margaret and Dana, with a baby on the way.  The house hadn't been that quiet since Daniel moved in.

A few babies have been born.  But first, some birthdays.

Kenny's daughter, Lyrica Tinker grew to school-age.

So did Harriet's daughter, Caitlyn.

Harriet's second daughter, Brianna, became a toddler.

She looks very like her father.  Harriett was pregnant and hoped for a boy for Luc.  They were both a bit stunned to get twins (no cheesecake).  A boy and girl - Brett and Briony.

Luc then remembered that Harriet had twin brothers so yeah the possibility was there.  They weren't exactly welcome as Harriett had had enough problems with just two kids.  Now at least one was at school but three under school age was going to make her even more exhausted.

Similar events were happening across the road at Harriet's friend, Monique's place.  Two birthdays:

Eldest boy, Jean, grew to school age, and the baby, Jacques, grew to toddlerhood.

Monique had also been pregnant and hoped for a girl.  No twins, but she gave birth to another boy - Gerard.

At Damien's, Marla (ex-wife of Alex) gave birth to a daughter - Demonica.  I thought I had a pic but can't find any.  (I'll need to delete some I think.)

Alex and Amelie finally married.  It was a private family affair.  Alex didn't want any guests who'd possibly object to his decision this time.

Not long after this wedding, Denny Collie saw something he wasn't supposed to while he was downtown.

It was newlywed Amelie but that wasn't Alex.  It was her old boyfriend Kane Danaher.

Meanwhile over at Kane's in Bluewater village, he was getting to know old ex dorm-mate, now flatmate, Siobhan O'Donnell, better.

Siobhan was in love and proposed to him.

He accepted because he was very attracted to her and maybe thought circumstances might change before the wedding.  Siobhan arranged the wedding party and they married on the balcony.

It was then realisation hit at what he'd actually done.

The guests included some family, but as it was shortly after Penny's death, naturally Kane's mother wasn't there.  This was mentioned by Amelie and Alex seemed a bit miffed at her tactlessness.

Neighbours, Mehrissa and Adrian Lewis were there.  Just opposite is Sophie Landchild's gift shop.  (Sophie had been married to Kane's grandfather).

Siobhan is now pregnant so Kane might be going on dates more often.  A woman came home with Kane after work one day and just sat down and made herself at home while Siobhan was quietly reading.  She had no idea who it was.  (It was Jan Govan who is also in the adventure career.)

Celebrity chef, Penny Danaher, wife of business tycoon, Edward Danaher, died last night age 68. “It was her last day of work before retiring” Edward said. “She had just got home from work and collapsed on the footpath outside the house”.

Edward and the family are devastated.

Penny was the eldest daughter of Mellon Collie and Remington Landchild. 

She initially had a difficult childhood

but was loved by the family.  

Penny had wanted to study at university but family circumstances prevented it and it was with some sadness that she continued to live in the family home.

Edward Danaher swept her off her feet and the couple moved into the present home where they married.

Their first child, Harriett, was born soon after, followed by twins, Richard and Kane.

Richard Danaher, now a Congressman, attended Academie le Tour and now resides at the family home with his father. He owns a grocery store in Bluewater Village where his brother, Kane, resides.

Penny started her career in restaurants shortly after the birth of the children and initially worked with her aunt Helen Collie, seen here.

As an award-winning chef, Penny soon cooked her way to celebrity status.

She will be missed by many fans of her TV show.

Edward Danaher is now considering retiring from the world of business and plans to start a vegetable garden near the fruit trees that Penny had recently planted. Penny is survived by her husband, three adult children and sister, Devon Lillard, who was too distressed to comment.
