Growing Sims

At Denny’s, Emily gave birth to a girl which they called Denim.  She quickly grew to toddlerhood.  And she looks normal.  None of the cheek deformity of Len.

 

At Darlene’s, Zen grew into a teenager.

 

His uncle (and half-brother) Hogan got promoted to Senator. He celebrated by inviting girlfriend, Krystal Kosmikos? over.  

That same night the Grim Reaper came for Darlene just after she’d turned 66.

 

Oops, gone already.

Hogan and Zen cried and Krystal was also there to witness the event.

Darlene is the first of the second generation Collies to die.  As a tribute let's have a look back at her life:  [Queue violin music.]

The day after Darlene's death Hogan invited Krystal over again and asked her to move in. She did.

 

Only then did he discover that Krystal was mayor! (She certainly didn't look like one.)  She wasn’t prepared to live in such a tiny house so they all moved out and into a vacant house opposite the Lillard residence.

 

Even this house wasn’t really appropriate for a senator and mayor but there were no nicer houses available. There's also no room for a car!  They plan to build.

Neighbours visited after they moved in.  One of their visitors was Philippe Champignon.  His nose became rather prominent when he grew to adulthood.

His pixie ears are covered by the long hair.

Jan had kicked out Jancine and her father's baby daughter.  She'd sold the bookshop and continued in her adventurer career.  But she was lonely.  She had no friends.  In desperation she called the gypsy woman and asked for a blind date.  She paid 3,000 simoleans.

Greg Royce fell from the sky and already seemed in love with her.  Almost immediately, Jan had her first kiss ever (nine days away from elderhood).

She did a lot of flirting, kissing and hugging and got very hot.

The blind date was a success.  The next day she invited Greg home and eventually he agreed to move in.

Jan is now pregnant.

My plan was to get rid of, primarily, Helena and Shana - the ugliest of Daniel Collie's children.  They had inherited the unattractive features of their grandmother.  Getting rid of them would leave their two husbands who weren't required either.  They also hated each other and kept fighting.  So the plan was to get them into a locked room with a barbecue and let them burn to death.  I was about to put this plan into action when Grant Kim started a fire for me.

This was ideal as the four newlyweds were still on their honeymoon.  Unfortunately it took a while to get the four uglier ones into the kitchen.  By the time Helena got back from work and into the kitchen, the others had returned and run into the kitchen as well.  I tried to keep them away but with little success.

There were too many people in the small room and ones I didn't want to die looked likely to die.  So I decided to call in the fire brigade.

Sean is dangerously close to burning to death and Deon was right next to him.

Finally the fire was extinguished.

I got the dirty newlyweds out of the kitchen and locked the door so the fuglies remained.  Now I could introduce the barbecue.

Shana was very tired so I got Helena to cook some sausages.  Before she did, she saw Shana asleep on her feet and laughed.

Shana fell down but woke before she caught fire.

It was Helena who caught fire and died first.

The rest danced around for a while.

Amazingly, Grant Kim (who started the first fire) survived the second fire as well.  He was close to starvation by now so I left him to it and he finally expired.  The others, meanwhile, had got hungry and ordered Chinese.

The delivery boy seemed upset about the dead body in the kitchen.

I haven't yet decided on killing off perhaps Leon Collie or Nicholas Baena.  Later, perhaps.

Deon and Margareta finally found their potential partners at Academie le Tour.

Deon had his first kiss with Angel Tellerman.

A fair bit of flirting and kissing later led to a proposal...

and an acceptance.  Deon then dropped out and moved in with sisters Helena and Shana.

Margareta, meanwhile, had snagged Sean Simpson.

A lot of flirting later and she also proposed.

Sean accepted.

Margareta then dropped out and headed back to Veronaville.

Before Margareta arrived, Deon invited Angel round and asked her to move in.  She did.  Margareta then moved in and invited Sean around and he also moved in.  It was time for the last two weddings.

Margareta wanted the wedding party so she invited friends and family and got married first.

Immediately after the vows, Sean walked off... oops

Sean hadn't wanted to get married at all.

He went off to look through the telescope.

While he was doing that, the second wedding took place between Deon and Angel.

Margareta noticed the difference between the ceremonies once the vows had been said...

Her new husband was still ignoring her.

The wedding party was over and it had been a success.

Margaret had achieved her lifetime want of marrying off 6 children - finally.

Now the kids were married off, it was time to get rid of some of the uglier ones...

It'd been a while since I'd played Veronaville, so I visited each house and played a Sim day to see what they were up to.  After doing so I realised I'd still missed playing two households.

Champignon:  Amelie and Alex are still engaged.  Amelie is waiting for spring to have the wedding.  Emma has moved to Academie le Tour and is in the same dorm as Larissa Landgraab.  Francois is losing friends rather than gaining them so no promotion on the horizon just yet.  Henri's wife, Erina, is pregnant.  Guillaume and Victoria are expecting another baby.

Collie:  The youngest twins of Daniel are at Academie le Tour.  They've both found potential partners so more on them soon.  Damien and Marla are expecting a baby.  Hogan (half-brother of Darlene and his nephew, Zen) grew into an elder.  Not much happening elsewhere...  yet.

It didn't take long, once I'd got Petunia to give up her job and buy a few more trees to make an orchard (only about 6 trees).  I kept mousing over the trees to see when the 'spray' or 'spray many' option came up and made her do it, no matter what she was in the middle of (sleeping, showering, etc).  Within two Sim days she changed into a Plant Sim.  It helped that it was summer at the time.

I moved her out and into another house in the neighbourhood which I then redesigned.  I replaced the roof with glasshouse walls and roof, with a tree growing up through the middle and a mezzanine floor.  I may take a pic next time. 

After rearranging the inside and out, neighbours visited.  She spread her happiness spores over them (so another Malcolm Landgraab and Gilbert Jacquet talked about kissing), then decided to shake her head and produce a baby plantsim called Salvia.

I hadn't done anything in Riverblossom Hills yet.  I had a browse and found the interesting house of the Plant Sim.  H has taken over that family though, so I thought I'd make one.  Haha.  Not so friggin' easy. 

I created Petunia Birchwood, a short-haired blonde woman and had her move into one of the houses - a one-bedroomed place which seemed perfect.  It had a fruit tree and a bit of room for planting veges.  She planted away, tended, etc and of course lost her tomato plants during the winter.  I'd read that the Sim has to keep spraying in order to become a plant sim.  The only trouble is the spray option doesn't come up too often and you can only spray once.  She's now halfway through her adult life, nearing elderhood and is nowhere near becoming a Plant Sim.  Her fridge is stocked with multiple goodies and the tree has borne fruit twice.

I had decided not to cheat moneywise but it appears this was a bad idea.  In order to spray a lot I need lots of plants and trees and the trees are expensive.  So I'll have to cheat for money, make a whole orchard, have her give up her job (which she needed for money) and keep trying.  I'll also need to get rid of the ladybug house which I only just installed so I get more bugs and need to spray. 

Her only other problem is lack of social contact.  I occasionally get her to call up the moustachioed Morty(?) and this seems to satisfy her.  I don't want anyone moving in though.

I'll keep trying but it was rather tedious last night and my shoulder got sore from using the mouse at an evidently stupid angle. 

I only hope the spray option comes up more often.  I'll have to get rid of winter too just in the short-term until I've succeeded.

It was time to update on the Randoms before I head back over to Veronaville.

Enid was still angry with Josh even though he was dead.  She was 61 and Hortensia was 65 so she had to catch up to her twin.  She milked the cow plant and suddenly gained a few days so she was then 56.  I was too lazy to fast forward her life to catch up so I made her take the cow plant's tasty looking birthday cake.  She died as Josh had.

Terence, you may remember, had five kids, with another on the way.  The sixth child was born - another girl, called Catheter.  Terence had a bit of a hard time coping with 3 screaming babies.

Kaylynn mostly slept.  The older kids didn't help much.

Finally Lynette grew into a teen.

and the twin toddlers grew to school age:

Baby Catheter grew into a toddler.

At Connor's house, his daughter, Carine, also grew into a teenager.

His wife, Carla, flirted with Gilbert Jacquet.

Connor's criminal career is stagnant.  He was demoted and is still just a getaway driver.

At Candida's, Cardio also grew into a (strange-looking) teenager.

Michaela's father, Mike Kent, visited and spoke to his daughter probably for the first time.

Mike and Candida are still pretty friendly.

Theophile Charvat (Hortensia Random's son) and Valley Greenwood moved into a house on stilts in an undeveloped area of Pleasantview.  They had their wedding under the house.  Guests included family on both sides and Theophile's ex-roommates, Alexander and Cornelius.  Others appeared, uninvited.

Glen Greenwood, Cleve Charvat, Brooke Greenwood, Alexander, Gaia Greenwood and Cornelius Huntingdon.  Alexander and Cornelius look like they've visited a pub beforehand.

Theophile went off in the limo, but somehow Valley was too busy doing dishes, people were in the way, and she didn't make it.

Agatha Huntingdon and Lilith Pleasant were there too.

On his return from the honeymoon of one, Theophile and Valley went to the bedroom.

Valley is now pregnant.  She wants to be as she comes from a family of 6 kids.

Cornelius breezed through uni studying Economics.  He wants to be a business tycoon and he probably will be.  He and Alexander Goth did not get on at all.  They were constantly picking on each other and fighting (only after they shared a rented house with Theophile Charvat).

Cornelius didn't find any women he liked or who liked him.  I imagine he'll stay a bachelor and concentrate on earning a fortune.  This is good because he's pretty damned ugly.

Meanwhile, his nephew, Parker, grew into a toddler.

Over at their parents' place, Agatha lost her job as a teacher aide.  While she was at work Giles got rid of two of the puppies, giving one to the Tinker guy and having one collected for adoption.  They were piddling everywhere and eating lots.  Giles is still as nutty as ever.  He saw a pup sleeping on the bed with his wife and just pointed and laughed.  Mad!

Brief updates coming as I've been playing several from different families (see Pleasantviewsims for other updates).

Theophile, son of Hortensia, was at Sim State in the same dorm as Alexander Goth and Cornelius Huntingdon.  The three of them moved out to a rented house.  It was only then that I discovered that Alexander and Cornelius really didn't like each other (see the next update for pic).

Theophile wanted a potential marriage partner and initially settled on Katerina Miller.  But she wasn't marriage material because she wanted 20 simultaneous lovers...

Theophile had invited his parents round once but Katerina made the mistake of flirting with Theophile's father, Cleve.  Hortensia and Theophile weren't too pleased with either of them.  Poor Cleve had done nothing.

The nanny-looking woman is some professor.

Since that relationship didn't work out and Katerina left (she and Linda had moved in), Theophile tried his seduction on a little girl he fancied called Brooke.

When he invited her round one night her dad came with her.  It was only then that Theophile realised that she was still pretty young (7 days away from teenhood) and had a protective father escorting her.  Luckily for him, the girl had an older sister called Valley.

Valley ended up proposing to him after she moved in to replace Katerina.

Finally Theophile graduated (with a major in literature).

He moved back to Veronaville and Valley followed.  They moved into a small house in Pleasantview.

In another dorm, Johnny Random and his half sister, Nancy? had arrived.

Will they actually finish uni?  Will Johnny continue to see Teri (who's in another dorm)?

Next - Cornelius.

A few Sim days passed.

Ian grew into a teen.

Tash had a visit one night from Steve.

She was very happy to see him but didn't invite him inside.

The next day she invited him over.

He moved back home.

The whole family had a jamming session.

Dunno why it's so dark - maybe I forgot to put a light back (I was changing them).

Teri moved to Sim State uni.

Would she see boyfriend Johnny Random there?

Robert meanwhile was happier in new clothes his mum bought him.  But he didn't wear them long cos he moved to uni as well (and I forgot to take a pic).  (I now have 5 students at uni.)

And what of Diane, who Steve abandoned to go back home?

She'd become pregnant, and gave birth to a boy.  She called it Jon but was more interested in her cat.

He quickly grew to toddlerhood.

He looks cute.

It's been a while since I played these three families: Steve, Rob and Mike and their partners and kids.  Where to start?

You may remember that Mike had an affair with Candida Random and she had his daughter - Michaela.  Mike already had a baby daughter, Misha, with his partner Cara.  So it was time to get them grown up a bit. 

When Misha wasn't just sitting complaining, she was into the toilet bowl.  Then she discovered half-brother, Robert's toys.

Both of them grew up on the same day.

She's not very pretty considering her mother is - got her father's looks.  Robert had a bit of a makeover.

Now he needs some decent clothes.  Meanwhile Mike and Cara still weren't getting on too well - one of them caught the other cheating but it was so long ago I can't remember who did what.  It must have been Mike caught out by Cara.  But they're slowly getting friendly again.

At Steve's his kids were growing too.

Ian grew to school age and Teri grew to a teen.

Teri had her first kiss with Johnny Random.

Then they got in the tub together.

But what of Teri and Ian's parents?

The tub had seen another couple in there...

Tash had got very friendly with some local...

and Steve had been visiting a neighbour, Diane...

Eventually he moved in with her.

Steve and the lads went on an outing to a restaurant.  First they played upstairs (but no-one was around to tip them, damn it).

After a while they went downstairs and ate.

"Where the fuck is Mike?"     "I'll order the lobster for everyone thanks."

                                      "I haven't shagged her yet."

                                                        "What did I say?"

Two of the three guys had now found a job in the music career.  Rob was still stuck in his job as cartoon voice.

After dinner it was a group visit to the toilet.

They all went back to Steve's place (which was , by then, Diane's place).  But Steve was so tired he went to bed and there was nothing for the others to do except play with Diane's cats, so they went home.  (Diane doesn't have a TV or any musical instruments.)

Meanwhile, over at Rob's - Sinead, after saying for so long that she didn't want kids, had a girl and called her Roberta (nice to have an obvious indication as to who the father is).  Sinead took the baby out with her when she went star-gazing.

But she left the baby behind when she went back inside to go to bed... and it started to snow...

The baby has super powers - it doesn't get cold. 

By the time Sinead remembered, the baby had actually fallen asleep (I don't think you can see the zzzz's).

"Where's my baby?"

Finally she found it...
