Growing Sims

Shana first attempted to woo Troy Gothier who's been around for three or four generations now.  He was slow going.  In the meantime, Shana also tried it on with Grant Kim and Adam Ying.  Grant was more promising and she managed to get her first kiss.

Still it was slow going and it got as far as her even going to her exam (with no major) and passing, despite not having been to any classes.

She made a second attempt with Troy but the proposal option came up first for Grant so she took it.

The fool accepted.  Shana dropped out and moved in with her ugly sister Helena.  She then invited Grant to visit and they got married in the hallway.

Four down, two to go.

I think that's enough from Veronaville for now.  I'll take a break and play Pleasantview for a bit.

Denny's ugly son, Len, hadn't done enough homework and got taken away by the social worker, even though he did a fair bit the day before.  Denny's sister, Darlene, offered to adopt him and then bring him back (by moving in and then moving out without Len).  The day came for Len to join Darlene's family.

Not a promising start.  The family tree showed Darlene as Len's mum and no father.  So, as the family tree was now stuffed up, and since Len wasn't going to make an effort, I figured he probably needed a swim in the pool.

Oops, the ladder had mysteriously disappeared.  Len got a few body points and the warm water prevented him from freezing.  Cousin Zen noticed about the ladder...

but it was too late and sadly the Grim Reaper came and took Len away instead.  Never mind, Denny and Emily tried for another baby.

Over to Daniel's place which is no less chaotic with adults instead of children.  Leon and Dana continued to live at home with their spouses.  I played four Sim days' worth in the house achieving elderhood for Daniel and Margaret, and the youngest twins growing to teenage.  Unfortunately, just as they were moving to college, the computer crashed and I hadn't saved.  I had to go back and re-play the four days.  The stupid thing is the first version of events was recorded in the album.  So here are version 1 and 2.

Daniel grew into an elder.

Margaret grew into an elder the same day.

She looked better the first time.

In the first series of events, Leon's wife, Robin, got frozen and missed her ride to her new job as a teacher.

Nicholas had to come along and blow-dry her enough so she could move and she got warm with a cup of hot chocolate, but still missed work.

This didn't happen the second time and she got a job in the political career.

The twins then grew up the following day.  Deon first.

Then Margareta.

It was a crowded event, looked on by Margaret, Leon, visiting sister Helena, Nicholas, and the pregnant woman is one of the Ottomas family who don't even live in a house but are still in the Sim bin.  Version 2 was much simpler and less crowded.

They both went off to college with scholarships.  That means that Shana had to hurry up and find a fiancee so she could leave.  Her experience next.

After Heidi died, Henri and family packed everything or sold stuff and moved out and into a new house called Forsyth Place.

There was room for an upper level but there was no floor, so I added a floor and then there was the difficulty of adding stairs so I had to install a lift (elevator) instead.

Artois got a big bedroom to himself upstairs and Stella took the existing single bedroom at the front of the house.  She grew into a teen not long after.

The immortal Hiroshi was visiting at the time.  Erina suddenly wants another baby so she's now pregnant again.

Meanwhile over at Guillaume and Victoria's, Reefer went for an outing.

He wasn't clever enough to figure out that snow could be fun and nutritional.

Victoria's cousin's daughter, Caitlyn, did however.

Eating snow...  She was also clever enough to go back inside.

Caitlyn got a baby sister.  Harriett gave birth to a girl and called her Brianna.

Across the road Monique also gave birth - to another boy, and called him Jacques.

Greg and Jacques sleeping in the spare room.

While at uni, Kane had fallen in love with a new student called Siobhan O'Donnell.

He tried proposing to her.

But she was having none of that.  Just as well, because it seemed he was afraid of marriage anyway.  Kane hadn't decided on a major and I couldn't be bothered putting him through uni, so he dropped out and moved to a place in Bluewater Village.  Siobhan dropped out as well and moved in with him.  They probably won't get married as they seem to want multiple lovers.

Twin brother, Richard, meanwhile, had finished his Economics degree and moved back home.  There was probably a sigh of relief from other students cos he was a right bastard and kept picking on one student in particular. He had few friends.  He wants to own 5 top level businesses but to start with he got a job in the political career as a campaign manager.  He's ambitious like his dad.  Will he be a rival to Malcolm Landgraab?  More about Malcolm at the wordpress blog.

While at uni, Marla had done a bit of flirting and 'woohooing' with Damien.

(Even then Marla was lusting after another student.)

Alex had done the same with Amelie.

So it wasn't a surprise that sooner or later one would find out about the other.

Alex and Marla agreed that perhaps they'd made a mistake getting married.  Alex sent Marla on her way...

But he wasn't exactly happy about it.

Alex's mother was upset about the breakup too (thought I'd taken a pic but can't find it).

The reason he'd married Marla instead of Amelie was that he thought Amelie and Kane were in love.  It appeared not.  Amelie walked in on Kane in bed with another woman while at uni and she didn't react.  There were no love hearts.   (I thought I had a pic but I can't find it.)

So anyway, now Alex was free to marry Amelie and Amelie loved him so he proposed.

Amelie accepted but there was no option to move in.  So I had her drop out of uni and move in anyway.  Another wedding soon.

Meanwhile, Marla moved to a house facing the river in Veronaville and got a job in the gamer career.  Damien finished his psychology degree

and moved in with her.  He got a job as a psychic.  They got married quietly.  Again I thought I had a pic but I can't find the bloody thing.  (Despite trying to arrange the pics in order of being taken, they're not! Grrr.)

No plans for kids just yet.

Dan was getting on, and one of his last wishes was to have a party so he invited his son and daughter-in-law over along with others.

Daniel met his new half-sister but didn't take any interest.  Margaret, on the other hand, who wants more kids (after 6) took a lot of interest in it.

She fed it and picked it up when it cried.  No-one else cared.

Dan and Jancine shared the tub together.  Daniel looked on with some disgust.  Seems he didn't like Jancine.

The party was a success.  The next day Jasmine grew into a toddler.

She's not very attractive.  Meanwhile Jan got promoted to Dread Pirate.

Dan spent some time with his young daughter on his last day of life.

He died that evening, age 79.

That left Jan wondering what to do with Jancine and her daughter.  Even though Jasmine was her half sister, she didn't want them around.  The relationship between Jan and Jancine was 0.  There was no friendship there.  Jancine had been left 10,000 plus nearly 5,000 for the baby in the will.  Daniel and Jan had only got about 4,500.  Jan wasn't too impressed, so she turfed Jancine out and locked the doors.

They were both outside in their pyjamas.  It was summer, so they weren't likely to get cold.  But Jasmine was getting hungry and tired so Jancine decided to consult the paper left on the lawn and find a new place.

They moved into the house in which Jerome's parents had died and more recently, Jean-Paul Tuborg and Tracey (Malcolm Landgraab's oldest illegitimate daughter).  Jancine cleaned up inside while Jasmine waited, hungry and dirty.

So Jancine had been turfed out for a second time.  No knight in shining armour was there to rescue her this time.  Luckily there was a money tree there but when she harvested it it only gave her one simolean each time.  She'll have to actually get a job!

Once Jancine was gone, Jan sold the bookshop for about 83,000 and it was moved to Bluewater Village (it had been right next door).   The business didn't interest her - she wanted money.

Dana got her first kiss at uni with Jessie Greaves.

However, he didn't really like her enough, so she flirted heaps with good ol' Nicholas Baena, one of the ugly wide-mouths.

Leon was having an easy time flirting with Robin Oshfski, whatever her name is.  Proposal was quick and easy.

He didn't care that she was smelly at the time.  He was lucky to get her.  Having nabbed his woman, he dropped out and moved home.

Dana had to work a bit harder to get Nicholas to agree to marry her.

Once that was set, she dropped out and moved home as well.  Both Leon and Dana settled in and invited their fiances around.  They had a double wedding in the backyard.

Dana and Nicholas were a fraction ahead of the others so they finished up and watched Leon and Robin.

The rest looked on.

Nicholas now has a full beard to hide his ugly mouth.  Dana doesn't have to stay with him - just long enough to have all six siblings married then they can ditch each other.

Since my categories are family-related instead of more general like toddlers or something, I've separated this one from the previous post.

Monique's kid, Jean, grew into a toddler as well - so many friggin' babies lately.

Monique's granny, Heidi, died age 76.  Just before she did, she unwisely used the plastic surgery machine with undesirable results.  Sadly, her ugly face will appear forever on the family tree.

While Devon's been having a fling with Malcolm Landgraab IV, her sister Penny had a sneaky meeting with ex-boyfriend Adrian Lewis.

Kenny grew into an elder.  Kenny's partner, Melody Tinker, gave birth to a girl and called it Lyrica.

Lyrica quickly grew into a toddler.

Harriett's daughter Caitlyn grew into a toddler.

Cousin Victoria's kid, Reefer, also grew into a toddler.

Over at Daniel's, Shana grew into a teen.

She's a bit of a dick.  Her siblings, Dana and Leon, at uni met their potential partners.  More on them later.

Over Easter I tidied up a few 'extras'.  I killed off the Fuglies (the Moles) in Strangetown.  They were boring to play and, really, they were not ugly enough.  After seeing some really really ugly Sims on Youtube recently, I realise that I just haven't tried.  But I can't really bear to play ugly Sims.  They don't interest me. 

So as Strangetown is my neighbourhood of experiments, I tried the toddler mania challenge.  I created a woman and 7 toddlers and put them in a basic house with lots of potties and cots, etc.  The challenge is to raise them to school-age.  I didn't last a day.  The social worker came just hours later, even with the help of a nanny so the woman could get some sleep and food.  I don't know how anyone does it. 

I also killed off Lakeesha and Jerome Love.  I wasn't going to make them have kids and their lives were pretty boring. 

I finally headed into Riverblossom Hills but instead of creating a family I built a luxury apartment block (which took me all morning).  It has three storeys and a basement gym.  Back in Veronaville I demolished the cursed house of fire and built in its place a double-storeyed house with a basement garage.  I'm not sure if the car goes in the garage properly yet - haven't tested it.  No pics yet but perhaps later.

It was winter when Marla moved in and she wanted a winter wedding anyway.  So she went to town and bought suitable clothes.  Alex invited the wedding guests.  The garden was white with snow.

But of course, the snow disappeared the minute the wedding guests turned up...

The wedding went ahead.

It soon got dark and the guests dispersed but Francois and Katya Champignon hung around.  Out of the blue Katya started poking Marla and then Alex.

Francois did the same.

They were both pretty angry at Alex.  Obviously Amelie had let them know about their relationship and her parents expected Alex to marry her!

Alex asked them to leave.  But, after they'd left, Richard came over and poked Marla - obviously he felt she'd betrayed Damien.

Oh dear.  Not a very happy wedding.  (Ironically the party went off fine - the rest of the guests were ignorant and happy.)

The friendship between the Lillards and Champignons were now on uneasy terms.  Not a good start to a marriage.  I'd guess there'd be questions in the bedroom that night.

Once the wedding had finished, it snowed...

I suppose I should make Lillard a separate category...

Alex was at university studying physics.  He didn't specifically have a girlfriend but a red-headed black woman named Marie Chen showed a lot of interest.

They started off as friends and got close enough to share kissing.  However, a new student moved in - Marla Biggs, a student that comes with the game.  Originally she was fat, wore a boring top and skirt, plaits and round glasses.  She looked nerdy.  But I got rid of the glasses and gave her a makeover and she was definitely interested in Alex.

But she first had to lose weight.  So she exercised until she had and finally Alex noticed her.

Marla didn't push it and made sure to avoid coming onto Alex when Marie was around.

But their luck didn't hold out.  It just so happened that Marie was passing by outside the dorm when they'd been flirting.

With that relationship down the tubes, Alex could concentrate on Marla.  In the meantime he had extensive phone conversations with Amelie Champignon.  But he eventually decided on proposing to Marla.

She accepted.

Time passed...

Alex completed his degree 3 semesters before Marla did and had a graduation party.

Alex farewelled Marla and headed home.

Marla moved out of that dorm and moved in with Richard Danaher and Damien Tan (so I could work on more than one student at a time).

At first Marla didn't take any notice of Damien and he was oblivious to her and most other females.

But Marla was turned on by beards, so the inevitable finally happened.

Damien held a sports party and invited his father, Kenny, over.  He witnessed the passion (as did Richard as they woohooed in a double bed in the middle of the dorm).

Back at the Lillard's Alex invited his sister's sister-in-law, Amelie, over and before he knew it, they were in bed together.

He wanted to get engaged to Amelie even though he was already engaged to Marla.  Hmmm.

Finally, Marla graduated but she didn't have a party and invite Alex - in case Damien saw them kissing or vice versa.

She headed back to Veronaville and moved in with the Lillards where Alex had had the bedroom extended.

Alex, meanwhile, had found a job in the science field.

Dan, it seemed, was good friends with Malcolm Landgraab IV's wife, Jancine.  They became more than good friends.

At age 75, Dan had found a new love.  When he found out Jancine had fallen pregnant he decided to retire from his business and focus on his new responsiblity.  He transferred ownership of his bookshop (now rank 7) to his daughter Jan.

Jancine gave birth to a girl and Dan suggested the name of Jasmine (after his long-deceased lover Jasmine Gregory).  Malcolm wasn't too pleased.  The story of Jancine's eviction from Malcolm's house is at the Landgraab blog.  When Dan heard that Jancine and his baby daughter were now living in a hovel, he invited Jancine over and proposed.

Jancine was happy to accept and moved in.  Dan brought his new daughter inside.

Dan and Jancine married without ceremony in the bedroom.

Dan's adult daughter, Jan, was asleep the whole time.  I wonder what she thought of the whole situation - having a new sister and a "stepmother" only a little older than herself.

Will Dan live long enough to see his fifth child grow?

Henri, Erina, Stella and Artois had moved in with Henri's mother Heidi, who missed J-P.  Heidi retired so could look after the kids.

Artois grew into school age and looks very like his father.

Henri became an uncle.  His sister Monique gave birth to a boy.

She named him after her father and called him Jean.  (Her cousin, Philippe was also named after J-P).

Both parents want kids so Monique's pregnant again.

At Francois' place, Amelie also moved to university.

She moved into the same dorm as Kane Danaher, who is actually her boyfriend.  I now have 7 at university: Alex Lillard, Damien Tan, Kane and Richard Danaher, Leon and Dana Collie and Amelie Champignon.  (Sigh.)  I've planned for the Collies to drop out but that still leaves 5!

At Pierre's, Emma grew into a teen.

Her brother, Philippe, had moved to uni, dropped out, and is now engaged and living with Gwen Gray(?).  I lost control of Philippe as H took over and had him fall in love with one of her characters when he was a teen still living at home.  

Here he is walking past the house of doom in Bluewater Village (the house for Landgraab rejects).  He now has long hair to cover his pixie ears. 

Pierre is a freelance photographer and I think Eva is president of a company - can't remember.

Entering Victoria and Guillaume's house, I found the wedding still going.  At first unaware this was the case I got Guillaume and Victoria to woohoo, not realising that Guillaume had just put something into the oven.  The guests gathered around the resulting fire, but thankfully none of them got too close.  The wedding party ended and they left.  Vic and G woke up in time to run to the limo for the honeymoon.  Meanwhile, the fire raged.  They came back to the fire, but instead of calling for the fire brigade, Guillaume got too close.

Victoria wasn't much help - she stood and panicked.  It was Ken and Elle Collie all over again (the same house - it must be cursed).  I finally got Victoria to call the fire brigade and the fire was big enough to need two firemen.

Not very active are they?  Victoria's still panicking but Guillaume seems to be out of danger.

Finally it was out and they were safe.  Victoria's mother, Devon, remembered that the same thing had happened when her long deceased uncle had lived there and that a subsequent owner of the house had also died there so she advised they move out - pronto.

They moved to a house I'd built earlier but which had stood empty.  It is near Darlene's place.

They were both glad to be alive.

Victoria was pregnant and gave birth to a boy.

His name's Reefer.

Update on other Champignons next.

I have rather a lot to update for Collies and Champignon.  I'll start with brief updates on some of the Collies.

Helena Collie was at university, trying to get Nicholas Baena to be her boyfriend but ultimately he wasn't interested, so she shifted her attention to Gerard Zhang.

He liked her enough to accept Helena's proposal.  Helena dropped out, moved into the green house that Henri used to live in and invited Gerard around.  He moved in and they married.

That's one down and five siblings to go to achieve Helena's mother's LTW.  I won't get these two to breed - Helena's genes are a little undesirable.

Her brother and sister, twins Leon and Dana, moved to uni to look for potential marriage partners as well, leaving three school-age kids back at the family home.

Leon, who also has the eyes-too-close-together gene.

Dana, who looks better.

At Darlene's, son Zen grew to school age.

He loves his mum and greets her with a hug and a wave when she comes back from work (Darlene is now an assistant coach).

He plays with his uncle Hogan (who's also his half-brother).

At Denny's, Len grew into a rather ugly child.

That damned cheek deformity!  Denny is a GP and is also now an elder.

At Penny's, the twins left for uni as well.

Kane moved into one dorm (the dorm that Helena was in - that's Nicholas Baena behind him) and Richard moved into a different one (cos they hate each other).

Harriett gave birth to a girl and called her Caitlyn.

At Devon's, Jeremy was promoted to Medical Chief of Staff.

Update on Victoria next.

Mildred Huntingdon, who had been looking after the puppies and dogs much of the time, died age 67.

Whizzer, the foxie, howled for a long time after she left with the Grim Reaper.  The pups grew into dogs and looked like the father - beagles.

Giles plans to sell the pups but hasn't been able to find anyone to sell them to yet.

Giles and Agatha became grandparents.  Veronica gave birth to a boy - Parker.

Veronica's brother, Cornelius, meanwhile, was at university in the same dorm as Alexander Goth and Theophile Charvat.

He wants to become a business tycoon and is studying economics.

Alexander is studying physics and Theophile is studying literature.

Theophile started chatting up any blondes he could find.

Theophile has the Random nose (not obvious here but compared to his father).

Alexander missed his first exam and had to repeat a semester.  He had been too busy working on a skill and lost track of time.  By winter he'd grown a small goatee.

Over at Charlotte's, Johnny grew into a teen.

But that evening, his father Willy, was met by the Grim Reaper (in the bathroom, naturally).

He was just 65.  His relationship with his son hadn't got past zero, so Johnny wasn't at all concerned and he was left nothing in the will.

At Connor's, Connor grew into an elder.

The nanny wasn't up to scratch and was fired,

while Carine amused herself in the car.

Finally, over at Candida's, Mike Kent's daughter, Michaela, grew into school age.

While Terence continued working, Kaylynn continued being a baby factory.

She gave birth to another set of twins - two girls - Cessna and Corona.  The household became a bit chaotic.

Puddle kindly donated by an idiotic nanny.

The babies didn't get a lot of attention - just the occasional nappy change.

Terence who had now got old:

helped out when he could.

Magic!

He seems to have lost his eyesight/marbles, something.

Anyway, the time came for toddler boys and baby girls to grow up - at the same time.

Terry was first, although he was a tired little mite.

Then Gordy...

It's going to be tricky to tell them apart.  Meanwhile Kaylynn is worried about  how badly she stinks and she's desperately tired.  Terence was at work, so the babies screamed...

Finally he came home, and although both parents desperately wanted to sleep, they eventually got the babies' nappies changed and ready to grow up.

Lynette this whole time looked after herself.

Theophile Charvat, son of Hortensia and Cleve, went off to uni.

At Josh and Enid's, Enid planted a cow plant in the front yard, hoping it would eat any annoying neighbours.  Josh fed it.

Josh, who has recovered from his watery affliction at home, continued seeing Maggie and his daughter Megan (pictured below).

While there, Maggie gave him a makeover.  Josh later invited Maggie over while Enid was at home.  Maybe he wanted to get caught or maybe he wanted Enid to move out or force him out, so he could live with Maggie.

Enid's fury grew...

Having won the fight, Enid asked Maggie to leave, then lectured Josh.

She didn't break up with him.

The next day after Enid went to work, Josh invited one of the Caliente sisters over for a snog.  He went outside to wait for her and feed the cowplant, but saw, instead, the cowplant offering him some lovely cake.  Josh couldn't refuse - what a nice cowplant...

Josh wasn't there to greet her - "there was just this you-know headstone - it was weird".  So she went home.

Enid didn't seem too concerned.

So, Enid, age 61, is on her own again.  Perhaps she'll invite ex-husband Renaud Fancey back.
