Mood: My Jolly Self!
Listening to: Audiovisions - yep, still no Christmas music!
Good morning, Everyone!
Well, 'Ol Santa has the best of news! His sleigh passed inspection.
Yay! That gives me a little bit more in my budget to purchase materials to make toys and to purchase gifts, that 'Ol Santa doesn't have the trademarks to make.
One of my Cats - every morning she watches my chair at my desk. She waits until 'Ol Santa is about to sit in it, and dives in and takes my seat. It's as comical as it is annoying! Ho-Ho-Ho. On the plus side, the seat is always nice and warm for me. 'Ol Santa shares this with you, as he just moved her once again. Unfortnately, she has to be one of the cats that doesn't mind using her claws to protest me moving her, either.
Okay about our lack of Christmas music. Now, I know many of you think we listen to Christmas music all year long ... NO! We'd get sick to death of the songs. But that's exactly what's happening. We have a good 50 or so Christmas CDs and yes, even tapes, but we've played them for so many years over and over again, that we're sick of them.
Now, I can hear some of you now, saying to listen to the radio. Well the Castle is so well hidden, protected, and isolated all radio signals are lost. Yes, we do have satelite radio through our ELFTV, that's like Christmas Town's DirecTV. And that's what I'm listening to now. They USED to have a seasonal channel that would play Christmas music, but it got canceled some how!
It was kind of funny the night we decorated the Grand Tree. We had eaten leftover turkey, and some ate a lot of food with it, so they wouldn't get sleepy, but then because they ate a lot of food they got sleepy. I made sure I had some chocolate candy after it, and then some hot cocoa. I was fine. But we were going through all of our CDs, and we were laughing at ourselves, as we were a bit punchy, as we didn't like the music anymore. Some elves were lying on the floor trying to go to sleep. But 'Ol Santa would threaten to sit on them, and up they'd jump and start decorating the tree again. Ho-Ho-Ho! We chose a couple of our favorites to listen to, as we decorated the tree. The time together was a lot of fun but now, we're sick of those CDs!
That night our lack of fondness for our Christmas music was funny, but now, it's just plain sad. 'Ol Santa needs to get some new Christmas CDs for the Elves this year for their Christmas present. Shh ... that's our secret, okay? Don't tell them! But 'Ol Santa needs your help. See, we're a bit fussy about our music. We don't like music that's as stale as last year's Christmas candy. We like good, quality Christmas music.
Do you have a favorite Christmas CD? Can you send in the titles of your favorites in the comments? Then I can look them up on Amazon and order them for the Elves. 'Ol Santa sure would appreciate that!
I stayed up until 11:30 last night working on my list. I should finish the A's today. 'Ol Santa has a lot of work to do today, but he's excited, because he has a fun chore to do today too. He has to work on his personal Christmas list to get for Mrs. Claus, our pets, the reindeer and the Elves. I'm of course waiting on your help for the Elves, but I can work on the list for the others. Tomorrow, (we moved our plans from Friday to Thursday, so we can get things ready for the party on Friday), we're going to the XmasMart for another grocery run, and I'll get started on my personal shopping, as well as some of the shopping I need to do for Christmas in general.
Today the farrier is coming. Now, some of you horse people out there, will know what I'm talking about. A farrier usually trims and/or shoes horses' feet. Well, with all the snow up here, the reindeer feet do not get worn down naturally like deer in the wild do. So, the farrier has to visit about every 8 weeks and trim just a little off their toes, so they don't grow too long. It's like they get a little manicure. He's due at 10:00 am - my, that's early for 'Ol Santa, for I'm ususally working on the toys with the elves at that time, but I'll have to manage it some how.
It was snowing this morning! It didn't snow too long, but it's always pretty to see. That's something 'Ol Santa never tires of.
Okay, we'll, it's 9:15 here. I need to get a move on to the toys since the farrier is going to be cutting in on my time today.
Happy Christmas shopping everyone. Try not to let the bustling of it get you. Think on your loved one as you shop, and the smile you're aiming for at picking out their gift. And remember, you can make gifts too!
I'll blog with you tomorrow! Have a GRAND day!
Happiest of Holidays,
Santa Claus
