Does anyone even care about pet insurance?

by: Wonderbaum   Keywords: pet, insurance, insurance, cat, dog, pet

Lately I've been surfing a lof of different forums and other social websites where petowners come to talk about everything and nothing :)

One thing that I have noticed is that most of the fall into one of two groups. Either they don't have a pet insurance for their pets and if they do then they are very likely to have had bad experiences with it. Now I know for a fact that there are those that truly benefit from having pet insurance plans for their pets but I can't help by wondering why there are so many pet owners that aren't satisfied with the insurance they have or have had. One thing that comes to mind is that they're probably buying a cheap pet health insurance but expecting to get the benefits from some of the more costly pet insurance packages. I know that issue is found in a lot of businesses and not just in the insurance industry.

If you looking at people buying discount travel packages you'll most likely find the at the counter of the hotel complaining about the room, the food or even the weather. I mean.... come on.... what do you expect if you want to travel on a discount budget? Luxury?

The is nothing wrong with buying cheap cat insurance for your cat but don't expect that you'll have the insurance companypay for every little thing that you can come up with. The have a business to run and in order to survive they will have to make money. Unfortunately there are a lot of people that don't understand this and that is the main reason (in my opinion) that I mostly see people complaining and the rest of the pet owners (the ones that do not have an insurance at all) are mostly likely to have come to their conclusion based on what they have heard from some of the discount people :)

Insuring Your Pet Against Your Own Bad Economy

by: Wonderbaum   Keywords: pet, pet, cat, cats, insurance, pet, insurance

Did you ever consider that a pet insurance is not only a protection of your wallet but also a protection of the health of your pet in the case that you don’t have the money to pay for their treatment? Surely most pet owners can afford a routine check at the VET but what if something is wrong and your pet needs medication and maybe even surgery? What if you had just paid for getting your car fixed and you had spent your last dollars on Christmas gifts for the kids? Where would you go to find the money to pay for the treatment?

Luckily for most people they don’t end up in a situation like this and I hope that you’re not going to either. But signing up for something like the AKC Pet Insurance or the Trupanion Pet Insurance might be a good idea and one that you should have before you find yourself in a situation like the one I mentioned above.

Please note that I am not saying this to scare you or to make you purchase a pet insurance. I really don’t! But what I am asking you to do is to consider whether you are truly looking after your pet’s wellbeing if you’re not willing to commit to never placing them in a situation where you would have to decide whether to pay for their treatment or to let them go. Letting them go would be an awful way to part with your pet and it’ll be a way that will most likely hunt you for years to come.

Everything Pet Insurance

Pet insurance is something that many of us put off, simply for the fact that it is seen as an unnecessary expense. However, did you ever think that your pet is just like one of the family? And would you ever consider going without health insurance for your family? If you would never leave your family uninsured, then why leave your pet uninsured? Cost is the main reason, but this is nothing compared to the cost of losing a beloved pet.

Pet insurance has in fact been around for a long time, helping pet owners to save money on veterinary bills. These costs do not come cheap, and simple problems will cost you money. And if your pet becomes seriously ill due to factors beyond your control, you may not be able to pay to make your pet healthy again if you have not taken out the insurance. It is a sad fact, but hundreds of us have had to say goodbye to our pets simply because of the money.

There are many pet insurance plans to choose from, and these vary. It is important to do your research and choose the plan for your pet carefully. Plans should cover annual checkups and routine care, but some may not exceed this. So make sure that if your pet has sickness or injury, your pet will be covered. It may also be the case that you need to pay for general checkups and not for emergencies, which is fine so long as you know exactly what you are paying for. Once you have chosen the plan, emergency coverage should start straight away but you may have to wait for certain other benefits.

The cost is a big concern for many, and will depend on the age of your bed, the breed, or anything else of importance. If your pet has had medical conditions in the past then this may increase the costs.

You might choose to pay slightly more for a completely comprehensive plan which will offer you the best protection. These can start when your pet is just a few months old, going up to around 8 years on average, but some will extend to as old as 27 years. If you cannot afford this then you could also do some research into whether there are any discounts available, or you could try saving money before you buy your pet to ensure you can afford their insurance.

These are the basics behind this issue, and it is important to do your research so you know exactly what you are covered for and how much this will cost. A simple internet search should yield a variety of insurance providers, and you should compare their websites to see which gives you the best deal. Do not just go for the cheapest option - make sure that your pet is covered so that you will be prepared and looked after if anything does go wrong with their health. Learn more about pet training.

The Trupanion Truth – An Objective Review

Not working for the many insurance companies out there gives you a great opportunity to have an objective look at their services, prices and compare them to their insurance company competitors. Not too long ago I did a piece called Trupanion Pet Insurance Review on my main pet insurance blog and one of the things that I really enjoyed seeing was that the company was actually watching what were being written about them. I’m guessing that Melissa is going to stop by this post as well.

Having done a lot of pet insurance reviews (and yes there are more to come) I have kept wondering when I would hear from any of the companies that I commented on. Not once did I hear from any of them until Melissa came by. I find this a bit strange since I have some fairly good rankings for a lot of pet insurance terms and a lot of people are reading my review as to be honest some of them is not that positive in nature. If it were my company I would surely talk back and explain why they did what they did.

Especially the ASPCA Pet Insurance has gotten some serious beating in the comments from readers but not even once did they contact me (or write in the comments) why they did the right thing. Now all that is left is a lot of high ranking bad publicity that will only do them harm and will probably have them loose a lot of customers in the years to come. What would it have taken them to write a few comments? 30 minutes max?

But anyway that is their case and I’m just thrilled to get as much user feedback as possible as I obviously can have personal experience will every single one of these insurance companies.
