Come on a Walkabout...

It's amazing what you find...

Mood: missing horses...

A body really should go through their photo's more often, I've found pics and things Id forgotten that summon a whole wave of memories *weg*

I've been missing the equines a bit of late, and these certainly increased that!.

Just call me MISS Doolittle! lol I adore this photo, Abu is the 2yrold arab colt on the left, and Hailey-Jane the 6yrold Thoroughbred mare (ex race horse) on the right. The gorgeous little girl Ella is the daughter of a friend on mine Sonia (who took the photo), I just love how she was mimicing my hand gesture and the horses both came to check her out - Abu had never seen a child before and he was fascinated. :)

Sonia did a stellar job on this photo!! He's only a baby himself, but Abu's head is much bigger than the seated Ella! Two year old meets four year old *g*

He's just 'gotta!' keep comming back to find out more about this fascinating 'little person'! If he was slurping at my hair he was following elaa about like a puppy he was so curious!

Shadoo - a then 27yr old arab gelding. He was owned by the man that Abu & Hailey-Jane belong too, in this pic he's kitted up in the gear of the 22nd Light-Horse Brigade period, for AUstralia Day events. Sadly, he passed away a few years back - it's the only photo of him I have.

This is Magnus, more obviously dressed in the 22nd Light-Horse Brigade period kit...this was for the Lemon-cutting event. They put on a range of displays from tent-pegging, lemon-cutting and the like - the types of manouvers used during the wars. Magnus is quite a character - no averse to picking pregnant cows up in his mouth and tossing them over a fence....stealing your coffee cup and drinking it...snitching your chinese take-away to similar effect.... *snickers* that's a whole LOT of horse!

And finally here's Cutter, he belongs to a police detective and he kept him on the property where I lived - we basically kept our eye on him and ran him with my flat-mates mob for company. Cutter was a delight, very intelligent, lovely natured and one of the very few horses I've ever found to be COMFORTABLE to ride bareback! hehe Belive it or not - I actually managed to get this photo in one of those coffee-table international photography books....go figure! lol

Couldn't not...

I couldn't help myself...I was hunting through some of my piccies etc and came across this one of the Oj-pup...

My friend had just been moving some boxes from where they'd been stored for a few weeks in a house that had been vacant for a long time. I VERY large huntsman spider came of the boxes, crawled up his back and met him eye to eye at his shoulder. That's about when I discovered my mate had a spider phobia!....Oj is very kindly offering to revive him after he flung the spider and all but passed out *snickers*

See? isnt he a helpful puppy? *grins*
