Collecting Bottles and Making Money

by: MakingMoney   Keywords: bottle, collecting

I recently decided that the time was well overdue to get my act together and stop throwing out bottles and other items that can be recycled.  All my unwanted plastic bottles, such as drink bottles or fabric softener - are all forwarded now to the bottle bank, where they can be whisked away and made into new ones.

Once I had started, so the glass bottles were my next project.  I had already slotted into a new routine in which no empty bottles were tossed straight into the rubbish like before.  In my new recycling awareness mode, the plastic bottles go straight into a box under the sink in the kitchen.  Once there are a few bottles in my collection, then I know that it is time to take them to the recycling bin.  The used and empty glass bottles soon found their way into a separate box under the kitchen sink.  It was then that I realised that a small deposit had been paid upon purchase for each of the glass bottles.  By returning these bottles to the shop - not only was I being kind to the environment - but also I was able to make a little bit of money for the return of the bottles.  There is certainly no point in throwing money away - which is what I had been doing by throwing out the used glass bottles.  A new era has begun in my household and everyone in the family now knows where each empty bottle belongs.
