Mood: Strangely amused and delighted it's Friday!
Another weekend is upon us, yay!!!!
I discovered today that a colleague (the same one that ordered me to go & buy fish food right away, let's call her Betty) has been bitching about me to not one, but two colleagues. Firstly because I left a note on her desk, asking if she could buy her own envelopes (she had intended to use 60 odd of the owner's envelopes, we'll call him George. He wasn't happy for Betty to use them because he needs them), so basically I was passing on a message from George. The note was not nastily written at all. But, she took offence to it. Betty calls up Judy (another colleague) to have a whinge about me, my note and the fact that I took 2 & 1/2 hours off yesterday morning, and 1 1/2 hours off today, due to the fact that there were no staff or clients in AT ALL, and also that my boss had suggested I take 4 hours off this week for all the times I stayed back late at work. Betty was fine with this when I called up to let her know. But this morning was a different story. She had a whinge to Judy about this also, despite the fact it's none of her business AT ALL. George comes in the afternoon and informs me that he too received a phonecall from Betty complaining about me. I have never done anything to offend or upset this woman, yet she seems to have so many issues with me. It's been like this since I started. I'm over walking on eggshells so she doesn't crack it with me, George seems to think she's a "bit touchy", but I feel that isn't the right word for her behaviour. Oh, and she's 20 years older than me. So there you go, maturity doesn't come with age in some people.
Despite this (which I found to be more amusing than anything else), I had a great day, chatting to my other great colleagues, Judy and Simone. I get along really well with both of them and it's a pleasure to work with them. Same with George and my boss, Mark. Betty seems to be the only one who has "issues" with me. I love my job and I'm good at it. I don't plan on letting one catty person ruin it for me.
So what's everyone up to for the weekend? I'm off to the movies tonight, then tomorrow I may go up the street to find a present for a friend, and most importantly, SLEEP IN!!!
Anyway, I'm going to go and get something for tea!!!
